Everybody has a different take on this. McGrady was great he just got injured like players do in the NBA. There was no reason whatsoever for people to pile on him but they did. He played better in the playoffs we just didn't have the players to go with him or a healthy team.
Come on, don't act like a newb http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Rockets_acquire_Battier_in_tra-184447-822.html Rockets general manager Carroll Dawson said Memphis called offering Battier and the deal was too good to pass up. "We were very excited when we heard that Shane was available," Dawson said. "We made the deal without hesitation."
I'm sure Clutch is a true fan but so are others and our viewpoints whether the same or different are just as valid. There was no reason to boo McGrady. Pippen just sucks like Clutch reported. Battier was the right move at the time if Yao and MacGrady would have stayed healthy. Since they didn't looking back Gay is the obvious right choice.
no not other viewpoints. the viewpoints of someone who doesn't follow the Rockets is not the same as someone who constantly follows the Rockets.
The hate tmac gets for opting to have surgery "supposedly without notifying the team" never made any damn sense to me. any person would do the exact same thing tmac did in that situation. He was hurt and should have been concerned with not only his health, but also his livelihood.
when your employer is paying you 20 million dollars a year, you should truthfully notify them of your health. situation. http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1545/the_day_t-mac_lost_houston/
I love McGrady more than anyone, but why did he do it THIS way? Did he feel the Rockets medcal staff would force him to play? Pardon my ignoance if he did give some sort of reason as to why he handled it as such.
i really dont care how he handled it. Maybe the Rockets wanted him to do something he didnt want to do. like a procedure or sumthin that his personal doctors disagreed with. idk really and i dont care. he has every right to do as he wished. Especially since his health is his livelihood.
this is ancient history dude. it's well documented. there's nothing wrong with getting a medical procedure. But there's something wrong when you don't tell the team you play for that you are doing it. mcgrady fans would fall off the cliff for him, I get it.
there were trade rumors.... one reason.... Behind the scene locker room issues, and issues with Adelman while not treated as the superstar he once was. I don't think the GM was 100 percent behind him. Now all is history
but still who cares. sure he may have handled it wrong, but at the end of the day he would of very likely needed surgery anyways. the end result would of likely been the same. At the end of the day im a rockets fan first. But yea i was a huge Mcgrady fan when he was here, and i was extremely bitter after that toronto game - to the point where i even wanted him out. but now i look back at his career, i just get sad. He was so talented, truly second to none at his time here in houston. He was dealt a **** hand and was very unfortunate. same goes for yao. I became a fan thanks to those two, so i will for ever hold those two in a great light. the highs outweigh the lows regarding tmac.
no not all. the Rockets didn't want to trade Yao nor did Yao want to leave the Rockets. Tmac has been with new york, detroit, atlanta, ..??? Yao started as a Rocket and retired as a Rocket. PURE ROCKET.
i was referring to being dealt **** hands regarding injuries... Tmac couldnt do anything about being traded btw. The team no longer wanted him due to his injuries. and whether u retire a rocket or not clearly doesnt define you as a arocket cause they had the audacity to trade Dream.
