i would think this is true if you're badly beat by two steps or more.. but if you're half-step or a step behind the guy why not turn back to find the ball.. so many interceptions could be had for the underthrown balls... kareem is running into the receiver every single time without trying to turn his head.. if anything he should attempt to turn his head back if he's committed to making contact with the receiver before the ball gets there.. that way the refs wouldn't be so inclined to call PI on him...
when a receiver sees the ball coming his way his eyes get like this -->

Kareem has played light years better than he did as a rookie. I think he is an above average corner at this point in time. He is no longer a liability.

He is AVERAGE. Not above average. And he may not be a liability against average quarterbacks, but Drew Brees picked him apart because he IS a liability, and unfortunately we face two more elite QBs this season who can do the same (Rodgers and Brady). Our amazing pass rush covered up a LOT of Kareem's deficiencies last season, so here's hoping that this season, much of the same happens.

I don't see why this matters. The only person that should be held accountable for his draft position is the guy that drafted him there. The only thing that matters with KJ is whether he is doing his job as a CB2.

Well, it is my opinion that he is above average.
I think he played just fine the other day against the Saints.

And then McCourty was part of the league's 2nd worst pass defense last year. Draft position at least for corners is not a good indicator of how they'll develop. And by the end of the first round, every team's draft board probably goes in widely different directions when evaluating rookies in the same position.

Look at the top free agent CBs this offseason. Besides Carlos Rogers, who was mediocre in Washington, Carr, Grimes, Webb, and Finnegan I guess, were later round small school corners.

You must have turned away when he got repeatedly abused by Drew Brees.

i think he's doing his job as cb2 very poorly. if you're part of the other team's game plan to try and win a game you got to look in the mirror.

And Mccourty played horrible last year. KJ had a better year last year. His rookie year, he was babysat. Kareem was thrown into a horrible situation, had ****ty coaching, poor safety play, horrible pass rush, and the only vet to provide him guidance was a second year vet.

Corner position is one of the hardest to learn, and you guys are too eager to tear him down. Look at Peterson last year. He was burned many times, his huge redeeming quality was in the return game, but as a CB, he played horribly. KJ was put in an even tougher position.

I hate not being able to edit. I meant that McCourty was babysat his rookie season.
KJ had a better 2011 than McCourty.

Only because it might be good for your education and your future....

Texans should have looked at Vontae Davis...not "should of".

And regarding Vontae, he wasnt a starter any longer, so Im not sure how much he could have helped. He definitely wouldnt be worth giving up draft picks for though.

The kid is starting school...looking out for his best interests. Those types of mistakes aren't typos...they are just poor English skills that keep repeating because nobody says anything. What's the harm in telling him?

Don't get your panties wet so easily.

I think he was joking. :) "Your" was an intentional typo.

its moronic because the post i was replying to used it as an attempt to down kareem. the idea that if you take away watt and cushing it exposes kareem because the pass rush is the sole reason kareem will ever look any good.. if you leave any cb in this league on an island for 5 seconds they will get "exposed"..

He thinks all CB's are psychic and can read any route perfectly. He also believes that a good CB should never be in the trailing position.
