Seems like the GM-speak we've come to expect from Morey. I'd guess most GMs in Morey's position would say the same.

Let's just get some basketball started. This offseason has me wiped out.

I like how nobody outside of Clutchfans and the Rockets F.O. realize we're on a new direction, not the same old treadmill.

Anything other than a blockbuster trade landing a legit star, or a tank season landing a legit (top 7?) lotto pick, will be a bad year, imo.

Like Morey's outtake on the season, tanking is something that should never be endorsed even if its what management secretly desires behind closed doors.

Like Daryl said if we're in the playoffs or fighting for the 8th spot once again with such a young roster then that means SOMEONE broke out (at least one of Lamb, Motie, Lin, etc) as a probable franchise cornerstone. Far more likely we're going to be sitting with more ping pong balls than in position for a playoff spot imo.

And if you are going to be in the lottery anyway, the only sane thing to do is to make sure you suck so badly that you get a high pick. Otherwise, you get the same tepid mid round pick year after year.

Les is delusional if he thinks missing the playoffs by one game is somehow better than missing the playoffs by two dozen games. It isn't. It's a fool's victory. It's fool's gold.

What if Lamb and Motie put up 17+ ppg and land on the all rookie teams but we get the 12th pick?:p

The draft looks awful this year after the top 5 picks. If we're not picking in that range then I wouldn't be too upset if we ended up picking say 12th (if we're picking that low than our rookies must have had a strong season) instead of 7th or 8th.

Give me ping pong balls, as many of them as possible. Hopefully McHale will continue playing his horrible end-of-game lineups.

    Jeremy Lamb - 18ppg 48% FG
    Royce White - 8ppg 7rpg 5apg
    Donatas Motiejunas - 12ppg 8rpg 50% FG

Rockets finish 10th, get 13th pick

Still a bad year? I don't think so.

So, we're gonna give it everything we got and hopefully slap enough lipstick on this pig to make some of our players look good enough to get somebody to buy it and give us an unconditional pick in the lottery for 2014 for some conbination of talent on this team.

That's awful for the future of this franchise though. We need a LEGITIMATE superstar, whether it's through trade or draft. The 13th pick will accomplish neither of those things. All it will do is crowd an already-cluttered roster with yet another good role player. This is a team full of Robins....we need a Batman (cue Battier pic).

We'll package the 12th with Asik and move up to the 10th spot. ;)

Glass half empty. I for one have optimism for our rookies and think they can much more than "Robins".
