He's now back in Taiwan and will hold a basketball camp.

His contract was 500k which is a lot for an undrafted player. He probably got over looked due to his race, but he also got a benefit for being asian.

There are other undrafted players who received shoe deals as well. And I would guess 500k is probably the cheapest contract they have.

Undrafted players might get signed, but all they will get are like free shoes.

Select date 26/8 and then starting time 22:36. About half hour long.

You guys need to watch this interview. If you can endure the Chinese speaking host but Lin speaks English! Good segment. His parents cried on TV.

He probably will since he already has a big fan following and Nike will probably want to take advantage of that.

    Nice interview.

They cried because his mom admitted that she silently prayed Knicks would keep on losing right before his 30-day contract expired. It would end Jeremy's NBA career for the sake of his emotional torment.

Funny how Lin mentioned he steer clear and avoided eye contact with anyone in managerial position and constantly looking over his shoulder, afraid of receiving the pink slip. I am sure lots of us had/will have the same experience in our lifetime.

David Lee got to go to Taiwan due to his Chinese sounding name. Next year Jeremy Lam will go to Asia.

whoa, this really is one of the better Jeremy Lin interviews. thanks for posting!

i liked the part where Jeremy's parents talked about what he used to be like in high school.

i did some rough translation for those who are curious.

Lin's mom: Jeremy was a very competitive child who didn't like to lose. when he lost games he could get very angry. sometimes he even got mad at his teammates, feeling that they didn't give their best effort. sometimes he would kick at chairs.

host: Jeremy said [when he was in high school] he only wanted to win and be the focus of attention. he was kicked out of practice once by his high school coach due to his attitude.

    ...

host: Jeremy's mom, out of love for her son, prayed for Knicks to lose their game against the Nets on Feb 4, so that Jeremy can leave the NBA once and for all.

Lin's mom: the time around Feb 2-3 was the toughest for us... my friends would tell me that Jeremy doesn't belong in the NBA, he was just used as a marketing tool to open up the Chinese market. i felt indignant and insulted.

    ...

in the closing of the program, the host said: a year ago Jeremy played in an exhibition basketball game in Dong Guan, China, where he did very well. but after he came off the court for a rest, the opposing team pulled an upset and won the game. Even though Jeremy was named the MVP of the game, he was very upset and said the MVP should be a player on the winning team. out of frustration at himself, he threw the trophy in the trash. then he realized that the was being too emotional so he dug out the trophy from the trash can, wiped it clean, and gave it to a friend in China. Jeremy said, he was not worthy of this award. in the past year, this young man learned to endure, experienced defeat and desperation, regained joy, and earned the praises he deserved... Lin's mom said she's not worried about his winning or losing games, she is more concerned with how Jeremy fights his pride.
