Whomever is elected, the same 1000 K street lobbyist will control the legislation that passes the US Congress (you don't see the healthcare lobby going after Obamacare do you?) and the Republicans will still control the House where tax bills are written. But just looking at Romney gives me the creeps. If there is such a thing as gay-dar then there is probably such a thing as slime-dar and mine is a clanging klaxon. I've had the same political and philosophical convictions since I was maybe 20. 180 degree flip-flops scream a deep seated, please my daddy, ego-ism that has nothing to do with altruism and service. Romney is Bush with even less of a self-directed moral compass. He was only nominated because he has the amoeba like ability to ooze over and absorb all the slimy platform positions of his more defined party rivals and then obscure them behind a opaque wall of 'no comment'.

    America doesn't need a Birther-in-Chief.

Man, the GOP needs to decide which base they want to fire up. Seems to me like they're pitching the wrong one.

I had pledged to never give money to a national political campaign again, but grrrrrr.... don't even get me started about all the women I know and their red-hot will to vote this November.

I'm going to repeat something I've said in one form or another here for several years. George W. Bush was a decent Governor of Texas, and far from the extremist Perry has been since he was "gifted" the office when Bush became president. There are countless things one could point out as an awful result of Bush's decision to run for that higher office, but the fundamental basis for his disastrous two terms as President rests on a couple of things. Bush was weak and trusted those closest to him, those with their own agenda, Cheney being foremost among them. And most important, Bush, after the 5-4 decision by the highly partisan Republican majority on the Supreme Court, in an unprecedented decision, handed Bush the 2000 election and made a mockery of the Constitution, became the living embodiment of the Peter Principal. Bush reached his level of incompetence when he was handed the highest office in the land.

    Damn Obama! Throw it down!

AP Interview: Obama on Romney's 'extreme' views

"I can't speak to Governor Romney's motivations," Obama said. "What I can say is that he has signed up for positions, extreme positions, that are very consistent with positions that a number of House Republicans have taken. And whether he actually believes in those or not, I have no doubt that he would carry forward some of the things that he's talked about."

Storm cancelled first day of their convention a couple years ago. Like 5 storms formed during that convention.

As soon as Democrats start making God hates the GOP jokes, that sucker will move and Republicans will say God has blessed the GOP.

Would love to see more of the press call these freaks on their mendacity and lies. Beautiful Chris.

    http://thinkprogress.org/election/2...ner-is-the-thing-your-party-has-been-pushing/

The MSNBC host criticized Mitt Romney’s birther joke, his consistant claims that Obama imported his domestic policies, and argued that the campaign has sought to foreignize the president. Priebus defended the party by claiming that Obama’s health and economic policies are European, but Matthews quickly dismissed the claim:

PRIEBUS: But I think Obama’s policies have created a sense that for whatever reason, he’s looking to guidance [from Europe] as far as health care is concerned, as far as our spending is concerned …

MATTHEWS: What? Where do you get this from? This is insane! You mean the Keynesian fiscal policy — you mean the fact that every president we’ve had has tried to offset the economic cycle with stimulus going the other direction is somehow European? … What’s this got to do with Europe and this foreignization of the guy? You’re doing it now! Saying he’s influenced by foreign influences? You’re playing that card again. What’s this European thing of yours? What are you up to with this constant that he’s not really domestic?

PRIEBUS: You don’t think the take-over of our health care system called Obamacare is a problem for most Americans?

MATTHEWS: Let me tell you some history, sir. Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt pushed for that, Truman pushed for that, were they all under the influence of Europe? Where do you get this from?

PRIEBUS: I’m not going to get into a shouting match with Chris, so you guys can just move on.

MATTHEWS: Because you’re losing, that’s why.

    PRIEBUS: No, I’m not losing.

awkward to who? Republicans already put liberal Crist on his ass in 2010. No real surprise the career politician is switching away from the party that doesn't support him.
