I don't see one being much better than the other. Depends what my team needs.

it's a risk. rednation knows the consequences.. he's a veteran. He got a great chance to land melo or deron.. unfortunately, BigMaloe and Fallen shows up.. It's always a gamble on trading picks in round 1.. Imagine having Bynum/Deron or Bynum/Melo combo easily a top 5 team... Obviously, you don't know this yet..

top 5 in the current NBA, maybe.
    not top 5 in a ~15 player draft. :p
there's no point in doing that trade unless you have a top 3 superstar, tbh.

even when i thought 'cash considerations' were just a joke, that deal looked very one sided.

will never trade a top 5 to a 2-3... it might be vetoed.. Do you think i will trade my first if Melo/Deron is still there? It's a risk for me too.. It's looking bad now since he drafted Nash instead of LMA (which i understand, 'twas bigMaloe's frontcourt last draft, so drafting LMA looked like RedNation copying BigMaloe).. our deal is wayyyy better than what you're offering..

? we misunderstood each other here, i think

    ... it's far worse.
my deal: late 3-->late 4 drop off. That's a tiny drop off, judging by the last draft. marginal / one time all stars everywhere.

your deal: far smaller than late 3 --> late 5, which was your deal. that's going from all star to above average starter.

my price: a significant bench upgrade.
your price: basically a chance at Deron Williams instead of a Tony Parker or Nash. That's a tiny difference -- or none at all, if we are properly going by last year's peak.
And on top of it, you got cap space.

I mean, you got a good deal, fair enough... But i don't get why you are pretending it was ever risky for you, or my offers are bad. You are the king of lopsided offers in this draft, so far. :p
It was a win the moment it was done.
