So it's 24 hours later and pretty much every single major news outlet in the world has picked up these docs and is running with them...again, not that that much can be gleaned from a bunch of offering memos & audited financials etc. Do your sources still contend that they are fake? Please articulate your conspiracy. It must be very well done.
These are the crackpots our GOP supporters are voting into office... Crackpot Caucus The tutorial in 8th grade biology that Republicans got after one of their members of Congress went public with something from the wackosphere was instructive, and not just because it offered female anatomy lessons to those who get their science from the Bible. Take a look around key committees of the House and you’ll find a governing body stocked with crackpots whose views on major issues are as removed from reality as Missouri’s Representative Todd Akin’s take on the sperm-killing powers of a woman who’s been raped. On matters of basic science and peer-reviewed knowledge, from evolution to climate change to elementary fiscal math, many Republicans in power cling to a level of ignorance that would get their ears boxed even in a medieval classroom. Congress incubates and insulates these knuckle-draggers. Let’s take a quick tour of the crazies in the House. Their war on critical thinking explains a lot about why the United States is laughed at on the global stage, and why no real solutions to our problems emerge from that broken legislative body. “Throughout this campaign, Governor Romney has embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them. It’s one thing to give the stage in Tampa to Donald Trump, Sheriff [Joe] Arpaio, and Kris Kobach,” “But Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America. -- Obama spokesperson Ben LaBolt
If we have TAKS tests to evaluate teachers, why don't we have an SAT type test for people running for office? One that everybody takes and posts the results for; it could have sections for General Knowledge, Economics, Parliamentary Procedure, Science and Math.
That's right b****es! Obama has permission to use the song. https://twitter.com/BarackObama/status/239062043368509440
Video here: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cht3bitxknI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> After watching it, my impression isn't so much that Mitt is a birther, or even that he's socially awkward (like the "who like the dogs out" video suggests), but that he's an *******. The joke may have been about Obama's birth, but the video of Romney and a crowd of cheering white people in the back give the comment a distinct nativist impression to me. It's like "Haha, we don't have to show our documents like you people do!"
i dont find it funny all it does is feed the narrative from the right to continue to paint a picture of obama as unamerican. Romney really doesnt care now after poll numbers showing he will get 0% of the vote from black voters.
Yeah, that's the thing. It doesn't show Romney as a racist, but it does illustrate that he as a white candidate never was even questioned about whether or not he was a citizen. Obama as a black candidate and president had and has people doubting whether or not he's a citizen. It's a sad commentary, and Mitt is an ass for using that as some type of humor.
If I were making an Democratic attack ad, I'm putting a clip of Mitt's joke into ads targeted at Latino voters right next to Joe Arpaio, Jan Brewer and stuff that shows the GOP as anti-immigrants. The GOP has been very interested in making people who look "illegal" to show their documents.
Yeah, you're right, a former Kenyan citizen (fact) who refuses to produce his birth certificate for 3 years, then mocks everyone who asks for it, then says he's released it (all the while knowing that the short form is not the long form)...only to produce it once a celebrity shines the light on him... all the while hiding his entire academic, legal and medical past behind teams of lawyers and state officials... NO PROBLEM I BELIEVE YOU!
What Carl Herrera said about Romney's joke/non-joke is so true. You are laughing only if you are a birther or fatboy Limbaugh. I betcha it was downright hurtful to the Obama family. Bless those daughters of him, who despite being offspring of the most powerful man on earth, still have to hear garbage about their father.
Make no mistake about it, Romney knew (or thought he knew) what he was doing there. He's not Tea Party or Birther. He's a jackass politician who thinks he can get elected by playing on the fears and prejudices of the Far Right. It just so happens that he's so disconnected that he managed to steer the campaign back into that embarassing Birther garbage. This is why I don't like this guy. He's a tool who's willing to submit himself to all sorts of stupid crap for the sake of winning a few more votes.
This is a great post and illustrates why I couldn't vote for Romney under any circumstances whatsoever. The guy has no character whatsoever. He is a shapshifting chameleon with no principles or scruples.
i agree "great post" and also what another poster said not that he is a birther or socially awkward as a whole (especially around anyone that is not rich/white) but that he just a plain as can be *******. hell i think george bush was horrible and for the most part made a joke of the white house, and probably embarrassed his father for being... well dumb. but for the most part he was a likable guy.
