As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else. 8-24 Jordan Lyles, RHP vs. Jon Niese, LHP 6:10 on FSH 8-25 To Be Announced vs. R.A. Well, the Mets have been absolutely dreadful at home in the 2nd half. Please, for the love of God, just one road win...

I first thought that 47 in the tweet above meant games based on the wording. That would be legendary bad.
Lyles has had a rough year, but this is definitely encouraging. @zacharylevine: Jordan Lyles' four-seamer averaged 94.6 mph, peaked at 96.4 last night. Career average 91.4 per @brooksbaseball data.
To my surprise, Abad & Storey combined to give up 2 over 6 innings. A quality start even. Now if the rest of the crew can do their job.
Good news: The Astros pitching staff only allowed 6 runs for an entire series (albeit against the Mets). Bad news: The offense only managed 5 runs and we still lost 2 of 3.
The Astros are like a 1/4 mile race car in that.... They get one part of car to work only to have most of the others fail. The motor puts out solid horsepower but the tires are slick. The Transmission shifts perfectly but the timing chain flies off. Everything seems fine off the line, but they miss 3rd gear. All the parts are working, but somebody put low octane gas in the tank. Down the stretch they seem to have a win in sight only to have the lug nuts all come lose. The car actually checks out fine, but the driver losses his focus and veers off the track. The motor explodes right at the start. The hood flies off halfway down the track finding its way through the windshield. Sorry guys, I was bored
What are a horrible job by Marwin. I continue to see exactly why Dave Clark can survive multiple owners, GMs, and managers.
