The quote I used utilizes the noun education not the verb educate: ed·u·ca·tion [ej-oo-key-shuhn] noun 1. the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life. You can't just change things to suit your purposes....
Answer me this: If you are so pro-life then why do you (generalized conservative viewpoint, not sure if you hold the same as them) advocate abandoning welfare to support said child that was forced to birth? If the child is birthed into a family with no financial support to care for it and they all end up dead in the streets or struggling for survival on the thinnest of margins... what's the point of the pro-life stance? Essentially you are breeding them to die and not only are you responsible for the life of one fetus-turned child, you are responsible for the lives of the mother (and father?) who cannot afford to care for a child but are forced to anyway because of the no-abortion policy coupled with the reduced welfare policy that conservatives are drastically trying to coin into effect.
sigh. are you being intentionally obtuse? verb or noun the meaning is the same. what is your highest level of education? inquiring minds would like to know.
just unreal. i'm being intentionally accurate. Why aren't you? Educate (V) is the process; education (N) is the result of the process-- that's why the describer "mature" is part of the definition.
I'm not in favor of abandoning welfare. The point of a pro-Life chance is that it is not my prerogative to deny them a life. Lots of folks work themselves out of dire situations. I'm guessing that anyone would want that option but to kill them before they even had a chance to try..... I'm not breeding anything but the four children I've loved and nurtured. That child's parents are responsible for that life. If they cannot afford to raise the child or just don't want to, there are people who will privately adopt that child for cash on the barrel. How do you consider it more my responsibility than the two who created the life? You want to condemn what you imagine to be my response before you even criticize their's.
really dude, i think you are insane, not kidding. i don't know if you are a bigger nitpicker than swoly, but it's real damned close.
your argumentation is very sloppy and all over the road. if you are going to make an accusation, make sure you understand what was said and what you are trying to say or.... you lose. Your song lyricking is at least amusing.
No, it's called private adoption. If someone doesn't want the child they created and they want someone else to take responsibility for it, they can put the child up for adoption. One way they give the child over to private organizations; another way is to arrange for a private adoption where they would select their child's future family. Oftentimes those adopting parents will pay for pre-natal healthcare right up until birth and a cash award for the trouble.
NOBODY. I mean, NOBODY... is a bigger nitpicker... than me. But, you gotta admit... the boy is RIGHT!
I'm a fan of Frost although I haven't spent "2 years studying his work". Do you think you can delve into this comment a little deeper? I would like to hear an educated analysis that would maybe help me reread some of his stuff with a different pair of eyes.
more drivel. Apparently I've had to school you on the difference between a Noun and a Verb. You didn't recognize one from the other, I guess, because you sought to inform us on a different class of the word that was used in the quote. No wiggle room for you there... I've yet to see you do much besides put a couple of demeaning words together.... or you copy and paste song lyrics. And you assert that I'm not real bright? Too rich.
educating you is pointless as you fail to realize that the noun, education, can't exist without the act, without the verb itself. how does your wife put up with your nitpicking? is it that you are more educated and she enjoys you educating her on matters of education? how about your kids, have you educated them to the point that they are open-minded, like you, LOL?
You are the one that refuses to admit what has happened. Spin away, siir! How about "Spinnin' Wheel" by Blood, Sweat and Tears? "What goes up must come down..." BTW, why is it nitpicking only when I try to be accurate? Weren't you trying to nitpick with an agenda to turn over Frost's meaning? I stuck to the actual words he used and that is somehow wrong...
giddy, how about responding to the content of my post rather than nitpick? you are swoly, aren't you?
Okay, I'll play: Oh I know that, but Frost was talking about resulting education to the process of educating. Your attempt to undermine was folly. My wife loves me dearly and shows it every day. We both have bachelor's degrees. Oh, they adore me. I'm the primary care-giver and am able to spend time with my kids that other fathers only wish they could... or I hope they wish they could. You do realize that you are sniping in the dark here, don't you? NOW address my "nitpicking" please!
To educate is to train someone to listen to almost anything without losing their temper or their confidence. see how it makes no sense? education may factor in to tolerance of other's opinions but frost sets that quote in OP as a definition. a definition that is incorrect.
This is not what your definition of educate (V) offers.... 1. to develop the faculties and powers of (a person) by teaching, instruction, or schooling. 2. to qualify by instruction or training for a particular calling, practice, etc.; train: to educate someone for law. 3. to provide schooling or training for; send to school. 4. to develop or train (the ear, taste, etc.): to educate one's palate to appreciate fine food. 5. to inform: to educate oneself about the best course of action. Nothing about receptiveness until the process is "complete." would you rather watch them make sausage or just eat the stuff? you are comparing the process (educate) to the result (education).
i see you have it in quotes, however, education is NEVER complete, it is ALWAYS a process. if you believe that you are done being educated, not only do you misunderstand frost's quote, but you can't possibly claim that this "mantra" has anything to do with you.
