you are right. it wasn't my intent to rub it in your face in November.

it's just that your prediction for some reason registered in my mind when you posted it then. i didn't bookmark the page or even attach your moniker to the prediction in my memory. but when you made the exact same type of proclamation in this thread, it didn't surprise me.

so what do you think about elected/appointed officials calling for armed revolution in the chance when Obama is reelected?

Exactly. We do need government, regulations and social welfare network. But we do not need excessive government and regulations, we also should not over spend on social welfare programs. Where we are at this point is up to debate, that's why we have elections. There isn't an obvious right answer or we would not need to make new laws or change existing laws and all governments would follow the same policies to make their country successful.

    Here's the trick:

No matter what you believe, no matter how you came to believe it, ask yourself this question:

Is it possible that I'm wrong?

If you answer ever answer "no" to that question, then you are not an educated person.

You are wrong, I read a Robert Frost quote that told me that you are wrong, and if you touch my camera I will get the authorities involved.

I do that for every issue I come across. I have changed opinions, and admitted them, on a few issues here in the board. However, I don't think you and many other liberal posters on this board take your own advice.

Show us where we are wrong and we would gladly admit it.

This question have been asked at least 10 times on this board, but no one have ever answered that, seems like just saying something makes it true somehow.

I'm not really a liberal (my perspectives tend more toward the radical), but I disagree with conservatives more often, so that gives me that appearance I guess.

...but that brings me to an important corollary of what I said above.

Being positive that a position you hold is infallibly true is not the same as being positive that another's position is absolutely false.

    For example, here's a box:

...and here's a dialogue between two people who have just seen the box for the first time:

trueroxfan: thadeus, what do you think is in that box?

thadeus: I assume it's a piece of candy.

    trueroxfan: You are wrong!

thadeus: I might be, but how would you know?

trueroxfan: Because I know what's in that box.

thadeus: Really? What is it then?

    trueroxfan: It's an elephant!

thadeus: trueroxfan, there is no way that an elephant is in that box. While I guessed that there is a piece of candy in that box, I cannot be positive that is infallibly true. But, I can be positive that your claim that the box contains an elephant is absolutely false.

    See what I'm getting at?

Well we won the War of Yankee Aggression.

I guess we can win the war of moderate-liberal aggresion, too.

    I've looked under chairs
    I've looked under tables
I've tried to find the key
    To fifty million fables

    They call me The Seeker
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
    Till the day I die

    I asked Bobby Dylan
    I asked The Beatles
    I asked Timothy Leary
But he couldn't help me either

    Focusing on nowhere
    Investigating miles
    I'm a seeker
    I'm a really desperate man

I learned how to raise my voice in anger
Yeah, but look at my face, ain't this a smile?
    I'm happy when life's good
And when it's bad I cry
I've got values but I don't know how or why

    I'm looking for me
    You're looking for you
We're looking in at each other
And we don't know what to do

    They call me The Seeker
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
    Till the day I die

Really? You thnk? Given that he is so upset about Obama, who is a Democrat...you think the guy may be a Republican. Such powers of deduction.

Refman, it must be getting tougher to be a GOP'er.

Good to see you back on the bbs occasionally.

How is the law thing going? My son is waiting on the July Bar exam. It is brutal out there. His last choice is working with me, and though we get along pretty well, I agree.
