explain your choice The judging criteria is based on the following: Frontcourt- Who has the better FC Backcourt- Who has the better BC Bench- WHo has the better bench Offense- Which team has the better overall team offense. Which teams offense would run smoother and be more effective. Defense- Which team plays better defense? This includes team defense as well as individual defense Chemistry- which team would have better chemistry and work together better. For example, a team full of scorers who like to keep the ball in their hands wouldn't work very well. Based on these categories, you will determine the winner. IN THE END, WHO WILL WIN A 7 GAME SERIES jvu: PG Rubio SG Lin SF Joe Johnson PF Blake griffin C Joakim Noah Bench: Alonzo gee Kevin sephrahim Jordan Crawford JD88: PG: J. Wall, $5,915,880 SG: M. Ellis, $11,000,000 SF: D. Granger, $13,058,606 PF: D. Lee, $12,744,000 C: P. Gasol, $19,000,000 B: E. Ilyasova, $7,900,000 B: T. Evans, $5,251,825 B: M. Brooks, $1,160,040
Frontcourt - JD88. Slightly. JD88 bigs are more consistent on jumpers, have a huge advantage on post moves, similar defense, more experience. Less athleticism and mobility but more size and length. C: Gasol is the best big on both teams, IMO. He will be very good on both ends in this matchup. I like how Noah compliments Griffin on defense. But Pau is a much better overall player. PF: IMO, Ilyasova should be the starter for JD88 instead of David Lee. He's similar in talent to Lee and he seems like a far better fit next to Gasol (far worse post moves, but better defense, better mobility, more range, a great kickout option for Gasol). Griffin is the best PF in this matchup either way. But if Ilyasova starts, it's a bit closer because he fits with Pau Gasol so well. SF: I'd take Johnson over Granger on both ends. Overall, jvu will have advantage in transition, JD88 will have advantage in halfcourt / post ups. It's close, but advantage to JD88. That advantage would be bigger if Ilyasova started. Backcourt - jvu. I don't get these backcourts. Rubio-Lin. If one of them was a solid shooter, then maybe. Now, I don't understand it. Wall-Monta. Neither is a good defender. Both tend to overhold the ball and neither is very useful off the ball. Neither shoots well. I'd say slight advantage to jvu, because he has the best defender (Rubio), who's good and big enough to defend either of JD88 guards. I'd also say Rubio is probably the best overall guard in this matchup. JD88 should've started Tyreke, IMO. Tyreke has even less range than Monta Ellis, but he's a much better cutter, a good offensive rebounder, a better defender. He's much more useful off the ball. He would make more sense on that team. Bench - JD88. Ilyasova and Tyreke are by far the two best bench guys in the matchup. Offense - JD88. jvu -- running game. In halfcourt, Rubio-Blake P&R or Joe Johnson shot creation. Lin/Rubio don't make sense together. Who shoots 3s on that team? Just Joe Johnson? JD88 -- halfcourt post game. Centered around Pau Gasol. Pau posts up, passes out to Granger and cutters. Wall plays P&R/P&P with both Pau and Lee. Halfcourt game will be especially effective when Ilyasova is on the floor with Pau. I don't get Monta on this team. Should be coming off the bench behind Tyreke. Overall, I give advantage to JD88, because I don't think that his starting lineup would be the main lineup. I think Wall-Tyreke-Granger-Ilyasova-Pau would play most of the time. That lineup has far more options in the halfcourt than jvu team. And Wall-Tyreke-Ilyasova would be very dangerous in transition too. Defense - jvu. Bigs: I'd take Pau-Ilyasova frontcourt over Noah-Griffin defensively. Noah is great, but Griffin is far below average. While Pau and Ilyasova are both very solid. But since Lee will play significant minutes for JD88 too, and he's not a good defender, it's about even up front. SF: I'd take Joe Johnson over Granger defensively, but it's very close. Guards: Rubio is the best guard defender on both teams (not counting Joe Johnson, who will play at SF). So overall, jvu. Chemistry - JD88. Lin and Ellis equally make no sense for these teams. Neither of these frontcourts seem like a perfect fit. jvu lacks reliable range and reliable post moves. JD88 should have an athletic defending/cutting PF in his starting lineup (rather than someone like Lee who likes to post up a lot and lacks defense), but he has that on the bench in Ilyasova. Joe Johnson needs the ball to be at his most effective, so that's another question mark. A lot of question marks on both teams, but i think JD88 team has less of them. Who wins in the end - JD88. His team has more offensive tools, especially when it goes to the bench and adds Tyreke-Ilyasova instead of Lin-Lee. jvu team will run and try to keep it close. But I think their halfcourt game will be too flawed in the end. Not enough spacing for effective P&R, not enough other options. And defensively, the difference is too small to change the outcome.
Interesting. I though he got under cap at the end, he was looking at cutting one player. Maybe he just didn't update his signature?
