Apparently Barkley caused Olajuwon and Drexler to get old. Barkley forced a 35-year old center to have a decline in numbers.
in his prime, he was a MVP <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/H7lTgUP-ZfY?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/H7lTgUP-ZfY?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vi-oVrsJ_20?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vi-oVrsJ_20?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Many people are against Chuck being on the Rockets but for me, I really enjoy having him on this team. It was fun and a joy to watch Chuck play for Houston. It was sad that he suffered that injury at the end.
Are you 12? Did you watch that '95-'96 team? They completely coasted through the regular season, and in interview after interview, they kept saying "Oh we know we can turn it on when we need to." They had completely lost the killer instinct that led them to win championships, and instead decided to rest on their laurels and start believing all of the late breaking hype that they could come back and win any series. They were coming off back to back titles and we're still talking about Hakeem and Drexler, (although both missed games that season) but honestly that team was hard to root for that season. For me Robert Horry epitomized the lazy "who cares?" approach that season, and I wasn't sorry to see him go. Sam hurt, but Barkley at least brought a sense of urgency back to the team that they sorely needed.
No I'm not 12.......Yes I did watch the 95'-96' season. I gave my opinion on Barkley and the 95'-96' team. You obviously disagree with my opinion and felt a need to insult me to make your opinion " More Dramatic". Well good for you I hope you got your fix for the day! Cheers!!!
Hakeem was getting old and breaking down. It happens with all great players especially centers. When they start getting old their production starts plummeting.
I remember that he took shots like the Rockets were his team, shots that should have gone to Hakeem the Dream... Barkely way brought in to rebound, but he messed with the Chemistry. He rubbed Drexler the wrong way. And then he didn't help out with the Pippen acquisition. Drexler said he was a lazy and he'd never win a championship. Hakeem should have put Barkely in his place. Made him aware he was a supporting cast and not the star. Drexler accepted his role. But Barkely always thought he was the star, and that is the reason he didn't get his ring with the Rockets!
Yeah, I was at that game, and that's pretty much the last thing I remember about him while he was a Rocket/NBA player
I shook Chucks hand a year ago in Philly at a bar. Seemed like he was cool with everyone bugging him.
