I know several of you have probably picked up a new Sprint LTE phone, and the signal was turned on in Houston a little over a month ago or so. But actually getting an LTE signal, especially indoors, seems to be a big problem in some areas, and in particular when there are any other larger electronics around, such as (unfortunately) server rooms.

So I notice that AT&T and Verizon have a market out there already for LTE repeaters/boosters/whatever, but have any of you seen or heard of any for the Sprint service yet? Or any plans for one to come out soon?

Just curious, I really love the LTE when I can get it, but it's so spotty.

I am hoping I don't waste another two years paying for 4G service that I hardly ever get to use, and I am willing to explore the possibility of adding a repeater in my building if it ends up being reasonably affordable.

Ha. I just signed on with the new SGSIII and 4G is so bad. I called sprint and they said I live in one of "the best coverage areas" in town. Yeah right. They gave me 25 bucks off my bill for 4 months. I did some research and they're still working on the towers. The whole LTE deal seems to be a BS ploy to lock us up again and it worked. Since you can't just run 4g on the phone, service cuts out constantly because it wants to jump from 4G back to 3G and back to 4G.

    TL:DR We got hosed

Sprint's LTE is placed on a block of the 1900mhz spectrum..

At&t and Verizon use different blocks of 700mhz. In other words, the frequency Sprint uses isn't as efficient for building penetration as at&t, and Verizon

Sprint will eventually start using the 850mhz band Nextel is using as it slowly kills that network

Build this to ensure you get the best LTE signal:

be patient bro. Sprint barely has 30-40% of their LTE network up.

It would probably be cheaper to dump sprint and go with a difference carrier.

Depends on the area of town you live in. UH and 59/Buffalo Speedway = 20+up 10down

In other slightly unrelated news, T-Mobile will begin offering truly unlimited data starting September 5th.

Looks very flimsy. The slightest bit of Ewok infestation and that sucker is coming down.

Early terminate your contract and get a Verizon phone. Best decision I could've made. 4g lte everywhere. Worth the $150.
