Please point us to an official Democratic party publication at any level that includes a call for armed resistance to Republican rule.

I'm sure there were small pockets- but times were good during the Clinton administration. Same with the Bush administration.

Now, the economy's bad (the main source of frustration) government health care reform has passed (scary!) the government has more power (scary!) Obama's a foreign born, muslim, black panther (scary!) and the GOP has lost its leadership.

The economy was good for the most of his term- and that's what most people care about. People don't talk about armed revolts because of dead Iraqis or soldiers being redeployed. Give them their guns and god, and keep the dow high and you'll suppress any revolution.

Did McVeigh also write in a GOP newsletter that he would bomb a govt building based on a certain President getting elected or re-elected?

This is such a great point. When the GOP gets slammed with something like this supporters always like to say, "well both sides are bad". But it isn't the same. Not at all.

Crap like this gets too much attention. You know nuts like that are out there, and all they need to reproduce is get their stupid message out to the next rabble without a cause. You can't ignore it, but publicity is a bad thing.

It doesn't seem terribly relevant to me. It's not as if all the county newsletters have to send copy to the central office for vetting before publication. So, they had some low-level operative speak out of turn and he got canned for it. He does reflect a conservative sub-culture (that Republicans capitalize on) that has taken their Obama hate out of all proportion. The left has its crazies too, like the anarchists who go riot at G8 summits. The crazies on the right are probably more numerous and more law-abiding most of the time, though probably more dangerous with the right catalyst. So I would say both sides do it, but conservatives do it better.

The point is that at some level GOP structure decided this guy and his publications were OK even though it was part of the GOP organization.

The left does have its crazies, but none of them are officials in the Democratic party that put out official writings urging armed revolution against GOP leadership.

Yeah, until he wrote advocating armed revolution and caused a scandal and now he's out. It's just not very significant. Wouldn't your position be invalidated by one dumb low-level Democratic Party official saying the wrong thing? Even if I can't find one now (and I won't bother trying), if someone says something stupid in the future, suddenly the Democrats are as bad as the Republicans. I know that conservatives are a bit more prone to a fantasy of armed resistance in the face of some sci-fi totalitarian regime, but liberals too can get strident about defending the republic against some perceived threat. It might not even be a bad thing -- the only real idiocy is thinking Obama is really the nation's harbinger of death.

Only in Texas (well maybe not)

Texas Judge Suggests He Will Join ‘Civil Unrest, Civil Disobedience, Civil War Maybe’ If Obama Is Reelected

Judge Tom Head, a county judge in Lubbock, Texas, announced on a local television station that he would personally join the resistance against a United Nations’ takeover of American sovereignty, which he says will occur if Obama is reelected:

[Obama] is going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN. Okay, what’s going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking worst case scenario here. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. We’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations. We’re talking Lexington-Concord take up arms and get rid of the guy.

Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops — with the little blue beanies. I don’t want ‘em in Lubbock County. Okay. So I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say ‘you’re not coming in here’. “And the sheriff, I’ve already asked him, I said ‘you gonna back me’ he said, ‘yeah, I’ll back you.’”

LOL, just imagined an SNL skit of this. You don't even need to script it, just use the exact quotes above.
