The top 3 1.6 teams all switched over to GO for this ESEA season (begins this coming week); I think that says something. You have to give the game a chance though, don't just play a couple rounds and write it off. Plus keep in mind it's going to be adjusted after it goes live, they will be patching often. That's a large reason they eliminated cross platform play.
If you pre-ordered and you don't already have a beta key, you can play starting...now. They also released a patch with some bug fixes and what not. 1 more week to launch!

I gave it another try last night, and really had fun. I was sad to see no Nade kills in Gun game though. Oh well.
Awesome, just joined the group. Been playing a lot with my roomate lately. I mainly play classic competitive, hope they add a few more maps such as cpl_mill and cobblestone. Down to play whenever though, a clutchfans game sounds awesome.

The rumor is the guy who made Tuscan (a better version of CPL_mill) is working on a remake of it. As for Cbble...I have nightmares of that map -- may it burn it hell for an eternity. I'll be on around then warming up before my team comes on to practice (have a match tonight), feel free to hit me up -- or I'll message you through the group if I remember.
I'll jump on around 7:30 as well. I still haven't found a gun I'm comfortable with yet... So far my best gun has been the M4A4; would be the AK but the recoil is too crazy in CS:GO.
This isn't like 1.6/CS:S in that every gun really does have its' own distinct recoil pattern. You'll get used to them the more that you play with them. Aug is probably the best rifle (other than the AK obviously), but I don't use it very often due to cost.
