They would not make the trade you mentioned. This is not a video game. They would want some kind of return. Not some scrubs and an expiring contract. And who cares about his discontent. He will be moved when they are ready to move him and it wont look anything like the crap trade you dreamed up. It will have draft picks and a young developing player along with Kmart if we still have him.

Why do so many posters on this board automatically assume they signed Delfino just to put in front of our rookies and take away their minutes? By your logic Parsons never would have gotten a chance b/c he would have been stuck behind Budinger.

Delfino can take away Lamb's minutes, but it is Lamb who can take away Delfino's. This is about adding depth, if Lamb hit the rookie wall, they'll have Delfino. You can play all your rookies major minutes, but somehow some of them will flame out. The NBA grind (of 82 games) is going to get to some of our rookies, I think Royce White is one who will probaly not hit the rookie wall. Adding depth is good, if Delfino becomes a stud, we will have another asset to trade.

This is so true, every year about midway of a season young player will be played out, Adding an experienced vet to take the pressure off of him helps.

Do the pups have a player that they realistically would give up for Martin that we could use along with a future 1st round pick?

Go big or go home. Sign a high ceiling guy for the minimum and lets get our languish on.

maybe this has been answered already but why isn't Delfino on the official roster if he is signed?

The Rox have to clear roster space before that can happen.

Who cares if the young players hit a "rookie wall." We shouldn't be trying to win games anyway.

well in this case,to share the workload around, so none of our promising rookies/assets get injured early on in their career?

Rookies perform a lot better in a more competitive environment. I am surprise that people don't see that. You want to foster a culture where loosing is unacceptable.

Not every team is lucky enough to have a KD and Russ though. More often than not being in a competitive environment does wonders for a player. They are forced to learn faster and grow up quicker.
