I am looking to move to a different school district within the next two years when my kid goes to first grade, my wish is as close to two years as possible. Is there a way for me to look at the homes that are listed easily? Should I get an agent now or is it too early. Is there a good online database for open houses?
My bad. In that case, have you tried Trulia? It's kind of a mess but they do have a lot of house listings on there.
Yes, it is working well. If I want to look at the homes, I must have an agent unless it is open house right? Would agents think it is too early to start showing homes given that my time frame is closer to two years unless I find a super great house that I just have to have.
depends on the agent, i guess. if its a friend/family member - they're probably willing to put in the time to help you out. if it is an agent you've never worked with that you want to start a relationship with - it all depends on if they think the commission is worth the time to invest in you right now. ask around for agent recommendations, call them up, tell them your timeline, and see what they say. maybe some will be willing to work with you and show you places. my hunch is that if you're 2 years out - i'd suggest sticking to open houses for now as i don't think it'll be easy to find an agent willing to put in time/effort to show you houses if you won't be buying for 2 years.
