Yep. You won't be seeing any pictures in the club with his shirt off holding bottles. He wants to be great and he won't stop until he's there. His arm is electric. Pass first, run second type of quarterback and that's the way it should be.
Easy to say that about Young now that he sucks. Bet people were not saying he had no work ethic and all that after his rookie season.
What's wrong with doing that? Great athletes club all the time. You can't expect an athlete to work at his craft 24/7. VY just wasn't good enough period. Nor was he ever as talented as RG3. People can't associate great work ethic => great play. Tim Tebow has great work ethic. So what?
Nobody had any idea after his rookie season. Time exposed him. I definitely wasn't on the VY bandwagon after his rookie year.
Exactly time exposed him, VY rookie season was overrated too by the way but I think some people knock VY for some silly stuff especially the clubbing thing. We don't know how Robert Griffin will react to the NFL lifestyle. Dwight Howard was a so called saint and look what the NBA lifestyle did to him. Same with Tiger Woods. Besides clubbing and stuff doesn't mean you can't still be a good at your profession.
How can you say that when he has not even played a whole game in the NFL? There are a lot of people that have talent and work ethic and still don't succeed in the NFL. I am not saying he wont be a top 5 QB eventually I am just pointing out that it is moronic to project someone to be a top 5 QB after a partial preseason game in the NFL. All he did in college dont mean **** in the NFL. SMH! You guys are either Baylor Alum/students or yall dont know jack **** about how talent projects in the NFL.
Yeah yeah, don't believe the hype.. RG3 won't be the same QB after a couple hits. Look at how small and skinny is, and not to mention that the Redskins have NO offensive line. This guy will be a bust after 2 seasons..I see more V.young in him then CAM.
No one is saying anything about preseason. Just wait till RG3 gets hurt and see if he's capable of standing upright after. I doubt it.
Generally when a player is hurt, they won't be standing straight. The more appropriate question is whether or not RG3 can take a good hit and bounce back in-game. Better yet, hopefully his elusiveness and quickness help him avoid taking Micheal Vick like hits of last year.
what will help prevent him from taking hits is the fact that he won't look to run like Vick and his football IQ, i.e. he will know quickly get rid of the ball. As for 713's claim that he 'looks skinny' and can't take a hit. Do you think Brady looks like he can take a hit? Did Montana? Brees? or if you want to compare a duel threat QB, Steve young...who has similar height and weight. Of course it makes sense to be worried about him taking the punishment if he tries to run too much but saying he "looks" like he can't is just silly.
Vick brings extra punishment on himself by trying to play like a macho man. RG3 has no such delusions.
While I agree that Vick goes Rothlisberger too often and doesn't have the big body to handle it great, the hit that knocked him out last year was actually in the pocket. RG3 is not a small guy...I think he's a lot bigger than Vick actually (impression without looking it up). Edit: RG3's combine measurements: 6'2.375" and 223 lbs.
Okay, 713's visual assertion is completely biased or ignorant or just off. I just compared him to the list of QBs in the 2012 combine and he's only behind the giants (Foles, Luck, etc) in size. He's bigger than Andy Dalton for goodness sakes.
Funny thing is Vick has more injuries in the pocket than he does running around. He's just a small guy
I think the concern over RG3 stems from last year at Baylor, when he routinely seemed to take pretty hard hits and get up sort of woozy. He'd be fine most of the time, but he did seem to have that happen multiple times. The game where he got knocked out (Tech?) and the backup had the fantastic game was one example.
That was an illegal, dirty helmet to helmet hit while he was sliding. But I agree with you for the most part. He would limp around after taking a hit sometimes. However, a 80% RG 3 is still faster than most quarterbacks.
