Maybe he wasn't feeling well. Maybe his daughter was sick and he was a little pre-occupied. Maybe she made up the story. Maybe she had him on her fantasy team last year and was disappointed with his production. No attachment?

Let's see: Scola, Lowry, Dragic, Lee, Dalembert, Chase, and Camby all gone but somehow the player the front office has no attachment to is still on the team.

Being rude to an acquaintance in church does not equal lockerroom cancer. Thank you for the story, but it isn't terribly relevant to the discussion.

Why do people keep coming up with all these rumors about Kevin Martin? I mean he never been a cancer before. Just because he sat out most of the year due to injury doesn't mean he's a cancer on the team. You cannot tell what's going on in the locker room just by looking at how they look sitting on the bench. Kmart never did anything to be consider a cancer. All these false accusation are getting into other people mind and that is how rumors started.

Totally agree with you bro lol!
    I actually run him at the 1, 2, and 3 on 2k12 depending on matchup...obviously he isn't a 1 or 3 but I get good results (height against 1s speed against 3's)

I know that how someone acted in a story is not indicative of their value as a basketball player - nor does it give me the right to speculate about their character.

You tried to stretch the value of your story by saying 'no one in the front office is attached to him'. Where's the relevance / basis for that?

I expect Kevin Martin to have an outstanding season until (and if) he is traded. He is in a contract year. Next year will be his last big contract. He is not stupid.

I wish there were more recent direct quotes from him. The lack of quotes could reinforces the idea that he's disgruntled. The team and its prospects have changed radically since he joined the team. I don't blame him but he can't rock the boat if he stays. He doesn't have a long history of being a morale killer so its difficult to say he will be probabalistically detrimental. Still, you'd like to hear some affirming quotes from him about his desire to stay and play hard for the Houston Rockets.

does it really surprise you that a quiet introverted guy has no real interest in schmoozing with the "girl who meets everyone" ?

I just don't agree with this idea. Disgruntled players are the ones that are often quoted and generate tons of articles trying to stir the pot (McGrady, T-Will, Spanoulis). What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Yes, there is no evidence whatsoever of Martin making waves. He's been a good soldier and always gone about his business. He's had nothing but positive things to say about the Rockets and their dealings. I don't know what these people are talking about.

K-Mart's attitude problems are blown WAY out of proportion. In the almost trade he said Morey "showed his cards," because he did, I don't see anything wrong with that statement. Then, because while on the bench he laughed towards the end of a blowout loss people have this made up image of him being a punk with a bad attitude. I mean I see people laugh at a funeral and don't think twice of it, but since he did it at a sports game he must be a horrible person.

This story is beyond irrelevant and it's silly to try to present this as 'evidence'. Are we really supposed to care about the one time some executive's self-absorbed daughter, who is probably used to getting showered with attention, visited the locker room and Kevin Martin didn't do his best to entertain her? I bet she whined about him to her daddy. Who does she think she is, a gladiator dominus' daughter? Unless he actually did something ruder than refusing to do cartwheels in response to her snapping thumbs, that girl is a spoiled brat.

For what it's worth, I've seen Kevin Martin out and about at clubs and he never seems overly excited about anything. He just hangs around with his people, and generally keeps his people. Don't expect him to be outgoing like Carl Landry or Brian Cushing. Kevin is just a calm dude. Can't fault him for that. While the guy is evidently not a vocal leader on or off the court, at least he knows what he's not good at and doesn't try to overstep his bounds by faking it.

More like cleverly disguised "I didn't see the graph on page two of this thread" post. Kevin Martin = Cancer, CONCLUSIVELY PROVED.

If he does, it will be Mitt Romney's fault.
