LSU's Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu is in drug rehab I assumed this was just for pot. But since he's in rehab, I would assume now that it is for something harder. Sad to see.
Doesn't mean it's not. Could be something that he's doing to get back on the good side and show he's serious about his career. Take the season off...get clean (even if it's just pot), go back to school or enter the draft. At the minimum, it gives the appearance that he's taking this seriously.
Regardless of what it was, it is obvious that he had a problem not doing it, since it wasn't his first offense, and knew the consequences of getting caught again. He has definitely been saying the right things so far.
Hope he's actually committed and not doing this as a way to restore his draft chances. As it is, he will be a longshot to go in the final day. Best wishes to him.
You don't think a team would draft him next year if he entered? If a team can drop a 3rd round pick on Maurice Clarett, a team will take a chance on Mathieu.
Is he that good though? Return man is hardly a priority, especially with the rule changes. I'm not so sure he's on track to become a CB1 in the NFL.
He is either a nickel/dime CB or free safety. Of course only takes one decision maker to think he can become an outside corner for him to be taken even higher. Punt returns will still be big.
Come on, man. Huntsville is just an hour's drive from Houston. This could be you this season: Spoiler
He can't be Sincere because Sincere is still there. I was actually looking forward to him going to McNeese. On Oct 20, SHSU plays McNeese for their homecoming. That would have been fun.
Pretty much everyone from last year is still there. That's the good thing about FCS - no one leaves early. Gonna be a fun year this year...
Does LSU as an academic institution have a drug policy? I know at my alma mater, if you were found to have possessed, used, or distributed drugs, you were subject to disciplinary action ranging from counseling to expulsion. A second offense meant permanent expulsion from the entire university system. By all accounts, Mathieu had failed multiple tests, so I wonder what LSU's policy is if he's still allowed to enroll for classes.
