Hey man, Either I'm lucky as hell or I know when to sell and when to buy, but over the last month I made 3k in gains...
Good to hear you have come out well. I've had a good month as well. That doesn't change the fact that you will have big percentage losers trading low dollar stocks. It just goes with the territory. Also, about your Sprint comment...you can also use trailing stops if you get to a point where you feel that you want to sell the stock. Maybe sell half of your position and put a trail that you feel is appropriate on the rest of it.
The new Awesome Penny Stocks pump and dump pick is out, VLNX. These promoters are the master of stock manipulation.
I was talking to a buddy of mine who bought Sprint when it was about $2. Thinking about jumping on it myself now its a bit over $5. Should I buy now or do you guys think it'll dip lower?
Last month was a good month for stocks, I am up 30K. I am going to start looking at getting out soon before it hits the fans.
I don't even really understand what is causing this Sprint massive run. That said I haven't even really looked into it either . Can anyone summarize why Sprint has more than doubled in a couple months?
I haven't looked at Sprint itself closely, but do watch Clearwire for other reasons. Sprint is facing an ugly choice pretty soon - a.) either pour billions into their massively unprofitable 4G provider to help it avoid bankruptcy in the next few months or b.) Let it fall in to bk and take the risk that they reject the sprint contract that effectively prevents clearwire from signing up new customers. I don't get Sprint at all. Seems like there are massive hidden liabilities with it. I get the turnaround story, but seems like a massive risk and a huge hill to climb. But, on the plus side, the debt markets are still open to them, so I'm sure I am missing something
I guess I'll keep tabs on this for the meantime. Reading through this thread is really making me want to do some research and play the stock market. I've never done so. Any tips for a newbie?
not yet, wait a few months for early investors to dump their shares...maybe right before the earnings http://www.telegram.com/article/20120816/NEWS/120819646/1002/business
Can you explain this to me. I'm trading on Scottrade, but haven't figured out how to set that up. I would like to do it on some occasions. I also have not shorted a stock yet, have to apply for a margin account.
Have a feeling a drop should be around soon. Seems like the last 30 days were awesome for retail investors. I picked up recently some SIRI and MNKD. I still carry NOK and might even buy more tomorrow. Have a feeling 15-20% upside by Sept 5th when their newest windows phone comes out.
Do you guys think investing in Nintendo would be a good idea right now? Its at 13.74 with a new console coming out this year. If it becomes as popular as the original Wii surely it'll shoot up right?
can anyone please suggest a book or two i can read to learn about investing? i am for the most part a complete novice.
i'm sure analysts have already incorporated that into their models, it's just based on how much more successful it will be according to their estimates
