Bro, i'm sorry, but there is nothing clear about that. As a DC resident i can tell you with certainty that the Wiz absolutely suck. getting Okafor or Nene doesn't really change that a whole lot. The Wiz are one of the worst run franchises in sports and they will likely continue to be. happy to make a tipjar bet with you that the Wiz don't end with a better record than Houston. (although it would hurt me because i'm pro-tank)
agreed. My heart wants the Wiz to be better cause i'm a pro-tanker, but my head says otherwise. Damn our competence
ok then where does white fit in? u say he isn't a SF(even though he is a tweener PF).. then ur saying he is a PF.. which means he will behind PPat and T Jones.. and even D-mo is a PF.. i know he can play some Center, but hinestly you would rather have him at PF full time given his abilities.. and if Delfino is so much better then why not sign him longer than 1 year? face it, they signed him to field a more veteran squad and hope we win games.. if they wanted to truly rebuild they would shave the roster down to 15 and play the youngins.. but they don't.. that's why KMART WILL NOT BE TRADED.. your gonna feel dumb when he is here all season.. Morey said on 790 awhile back he doesn't think D-mo is ready to even start for us.. then they definitely don't think Lamb is.. you guys keep drinking that kool-aide morey is serving up.. we aren't tanking
I maybe mistaken but I believe Morey said that D-mo isn't ready to start at center. He never said that he wouldn't start period. But I do think you are right. We aren't tanking. I think Morey and McHale genuinely want to try and compete for the playoffs by getting the 8th seed. Lin himself has said at the press conference that the goal is to make the playoffs and he said so when in Taiwan that the goal is to make the playoffs.
Washington will be rolling out with Wall Beal Ariza Nene Okafor That is a very solid lineup. They will be fighting for the playoffs for sure.
Garbage in, garbage out. John Wall is still overrated even though he is a good player, because he still can't shoot and his defense is still questionable. Okafor and Nene are massively overpaid, average starters. We all know that Ariza is one of the worst SFs in the league not on a rookie scale contract. Beal was a great pick but he's still just a rook.
Anyway who gives a crap about WAS, you know that even if their lineup was strong (which it's not) their horrible team culture and coaching staff and front office would find a way to f*** it up. You know we will have a better record than they do even if you like some of their players.
You're tripping about John Wall being overrated. If the Rockets could, they would trade for him in a heartbeat.
Undoubtedly, he has amazing raw potential... more than anybody on our roster. The point is a lot of it is still UNREALIZED potential, and unless this is the year where it all clicks, I wouldn't count him as a guy who is going to carry that team or anything.
Why are you talking about contracts? Them being overpaid doesn't mean they aren't better than what we have. People on this forum don't seem to understand how important experience is. Kevin Martin is the only player on the entire roster that has started for a full NBA season. Not only do we lack experience, but our roster was almost completely turned over so we lack any team chemistry at all. The Washington roster has more experience and talent than ours. If Beal has even a solid rookie year the Wizards will be better than us for sure. This Rockets team won't win 30 games as currently constructed.
There are plenty of reasons to criticize Morey, but not having a plan shouldn't be one of them. He clearly has a plan, and he has been pretty specific about it. The fact that he hasn't been able to execute it is another story. Criticize him for that, or for the effectiveness of the plan itself -- collecting assets and waiting for a franchise-type, game changing player to shake loose. But it's silly to say he doesn't have a plan.
Morey's legacy will be judged in due time(end of year?), but until then, ill reserve my opinion on his tenure as a Rockets GM for some other time. Its too early to tell on whether his suppose plan will come to fruition.
The problem here is if you criticize the plan itself then there is no plan left available. Alexander has made it clear he won't tank. If you don't collect assets to get a superstar then there is no other way to get a superstar. I like the collect assets plan much better because if it fails then you still have the assets as a fall back option. If you tank and then fail then you have jack squat.
This thread is clear that people STILL overestimate our roster. Rookies who have done well in the summer league are taking the NBA by storm....smh
