Fortunately I don't know what movie that is from, and Steven Seagal is a fat loser, but considering this is a gun thread lets not put down his custom Colt 1911's like that.

I mean, ILoveTheRockets is packing a freaking J.A. Arms. I had never even heard of that brand before his thread. (That isn't good)

Cars are regulated. We limit the types people can own, where and how they can be used, and how fast they can be driven. We put in numerous safety requirements, and we require them to be registered and licensed. We limit who can own them and require them to meet annual quality standards.

Are you up for the same regulations on guns?

Are we now having a different discussion? Because my post was meant to shoot down the "everyone uses them" and "designed to kill" drivel.

Actually I don't carry that pistol on me. and if you're in Houston I'll pit my JA-9 against any 500-700 dollar gun from 50 yards out. gun is a freak of nature.

People like you used to talk bad about plastic glocks as well. they seem to still be around.

I wasn't going to post in this thread until I saw this.

You act like 43 million more cars than guns is a small difference. When in fact, that mere 43 million more equals almost 22% more cars than guns. Seems pretty significant to me.

Just wanted to point that out.

Are cars designed to kill people?

also I think I have been arguing this logic is dumb for a few pages. I don't understand why you took it right back to square 1.

    WTF does this even prove?

    how about this:

    2007 Gun Homicides = 12,632
    2007 Deaths by snu snu = 0

Wow! Holy cow man, gun homicides is a really big number and this proves we need to take it seriously because it is infinitely bigger than death by snu snu

My guess is the legality of owning an M1A1 battle tank hasn't affected the supply of them in the slightest.

Thats a really cool story guy...

I could go on and on. Look at crime rate. Look at the gun laws in Chicago, and its crime rate, or D.C. Its also a combination of police enforcement, investigation techniques, and instructional training.

There has been 1000 cases that show less guns does not equal less crime.

OMG? Crime rates are much higher in large urban cities with extensive gang problems that have been around for decades? I had no idea.

A small rural town has almost none? Wow. How insightful.

Cutting down gun ownership in a city, will not do much. Guns are easily accessed from the outside, not to mention the guns already possessed, will take decades long time to disappear. There is no doubt that people will always illegally own guns and that people will use guns to murder others, but that doesn't mean better controls won't slow it down.

So if it was legal to own M1A1 battle tanks, you don't think General Dynamics would produce more of them for sale to the public?

They're sold for about $6 million, and obviously, GD's costs probably diminish with each unit since the plants etc already built. $6 million is a lot, but there's a lot of very rich people with money to spend on supercars and other vehicles that are in the same ballpark, so I don't see it as insurmountable.

Why would a rational, profit-maximizing arms manufacturer forego this potential new revenue stream?
