This seems like a excuse to me. Delfino will eat up heavy minutes and Lamb will never get a chance.

By sucking, he could have drafted a promising young player that could be flipped for an superstar.

Probably because they have Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap, Derrick Favors and Kanter. Jefferson can be traded for a lot, Paul Milsap is one of the best PF's in the league but gets over looked. Milsap will probably be traded to make room for Favors to start. Kanter and Favors were both # 3 picks in the draft. They have their pieces and started their rebuild already in the form of a high lotto pick and a trade for one. They had a star in Williams to trade for a future one. They are in a totally different boat than us. Saying what you said is just like all the people comparing us to OKC when we don't have OKC talent on this team. We need a high pick this year and then we can say making the playoffs is a good thing.

It's ridiculous to think that Delfino is going to take all the minutes away from Lamb. Lamb will play 25 plus a game.

I don't get it. People are acting like Delfino is Kobe or Wade or something. Lol.

You must have hated it when we were the 6th seed in 1995.

So apparently OP likes to not read any posts in this thread for fear it might change (her?) stance on the subject.

Or must I do the dirty work and spell it out for you?

2007-2011: Yao and Tmac. Can't suck.
2011-2012: Les hesitant to suck, wants to "rebuild without sucking".
2012-2013 (offseason): Morey given OK to suck. 4 promising rooks acquired from a mediocre 2011-2012 year.

    /thread.

You've got to be kidding. He's probably the most promising player we have and you don't think he's going to get a shot because of delfino? This is the kid they picked up with their first pick, who tore it up in summer league, and was reportedly pulled out of the DH offer, and he's not going to get a chance? I can't remember the last time we were buzzing about a rookie like that. Maybe Greene, or as far back as Brooks, and those guys were late picks.

You've got Martin on the block, who pretty much has to be traded and all of our 3s have very very limited NBA experience, if any. Delfino is insurance, in case Martin leaves, or the young threes behind Parsons struggle.

Yeah exactly. And when you have a young roster you need some vets there who can talk to the players and keep there spirits up. Here is a great example, a story told by Avery Bradley. Obviously, Delfino isn't KG and Lamb isn't Bradley, but just having a veteran there helps, even with just the little things.

"KG took the youngster under his wing and guided him down the promising path he's now on. "One day, KG saw me on the bus," Bradley said. "I had my hoodie on. I was a little down. I wasn't playing. He could tell I wasn't the same Avery, always smiling but shy, and he told me, 'You know what? I was sitting back in my room last night watching tapes of you in high school. If you continue to work how hard you work every day and never give up, the way you played in high school, you'll play in the NBA.' "

Marcus Morris was the most promising youngster last year, yet he still got stuck behind a bunch of veteran and was sent down to the D-League. It makes me wonder if Lamb will get the same treatment.

To say Morris was promising is an overstatement. Nobody had any expectations of him coming into the season.

Chandler Parsons got stuck behind Chase Budinger who we traded for pick 18, right?

    Great logic, champ! :p

and I'm pretty sure Morey is going to lose sooo much sleep now that YOU in particular have lost all faith in Morey.

Morris doesn't fit what i described. He was the most promising pick last season, but he wasn't balling in summer league, he was a risky pick from the beginning, so he didn't have fans wide-eyed like Lamb has them.

I was talking about having a rookie that played well from the beginning and made people take notice and feel like they picked up a stud, who was not only ready to contribute now, but could potentially be an all-star one day.

So again, fans haven't had a rookie like that since, possibly, Greene. If not him, then Brooks/Landry.

Everything you said about Lamb, also Lamb has a great pedigree from college ball.

Okay, so your logic is not that Jazz are not much better or more talented than us but they just have more players drafted at higher position, not necessarily better, right? I would argue that we also have Martin who can be traded and have more young talent than them. Your logic doesn't make sense, you know.

No games are played yet. How do you know Delfino will play heavy minutes and Lamb will never get a chance? Are you the head coach?
