A player of JR's ability should be getting way more than 2.8 mil. But it's not Lin's fault that JR squandered his fortune and destroyed his own value with complete inability to grow beyond the maturity of a 13 year old child. If he had kept his head on straight, he should be making 6 mil a year easy.

If he had the work ethic and brain of a guy like Chris Mullin to go with his talent, he'd be a HOF'er.

    Nothing interesting.
Everyone of the players are about the Benjamins at some point in their career, their whole career

Like someone said earlier...some of these players make it very hard to enjoy the game. Hell, for the first time I watched more basketball games of other countries than our own during the Olympics because of my distaste of their attitude/diva-ness.

Yeah, NBA, you're losing basketball fans to hype personalities...whats worse they're even willing to hype the idiots too.

    Well...

    that or an alcoholic.

Before a stint in rehab, Mullin wasn't exactly the poster child for clean living.

Instead, all they have in common is their flat top fades.

To be fair, JR would likely have made a lot more on the open market. That being said he is an idiot.

I'm a huge Lin fan especially since he's on the Rockets now.. but to be fair it looks like MSG stocks are doing just fine without Linsanity. I think that whole MSG stocks and losing money crap was all r****ded to begin with. Anyways glad we got a decent player on the team that is at least fun to watch.

He definitely dipped his toes in FA waters.

JR Smith originally signed on last season with NY for 2 years $5M with the 2nd year being a player option of which he opted out.

He expressed interest in testing the open market but nobody came knocking on his door so he signed another contract with NY for 2 years $2.8M per, I believe.
