I don't have any problem with the signing at all, I'm sure it's a good deal. I was just stating that he isn't a high percentage 3 pt shooter.
Your assessment of Morris is not important in this case. Atlanta would make this trade because they have a player who has voiced his discontent with the organization.
Worshipping our players like god-like trade assets? Whaa?? Sniffing paint is bad for you. By no means was the trade proposal mentioned above set in stone. The idea was to move out some power forwards and get rid of K. Martin for a quality, veteran power forward. Defensively J.Smith is an elite player and would compliment O. Asik, plus he has playoff experience that may prove to be useful in the future and to the rooks. I would recommend you serious provide a counter argument before you start posting random comments. It makes you look bad.
"The Rockets have waived c/f Josh Harrelson, a source said. Needed to make a cut to add Delfino. He'll put the roster at 20 players."
More like needed to make cut so we don't have to pay him. I knew it was coming but I was hoping to see him play. Worse case is he takes minutes from Patterson at C. Oh well...
Your proposal was: Patterson+Morris+Kevin Martin for JSmoove. You also said we'd keep all draft picks. Let's see, Smith is one of the best PFs and defenders in the game, all-star and has big value. Patterson is below mediocre judging by last season, Morris can be considered a bust and useless if he doesn't improve dramatically. K-Mart is a one-dimensional scorer with one year left on his contract. Hawks already have Morrow, Stevenson, Jenkins at decent SGs with good shooting, adding K-Mart is pointless. They also don't save salary with your proposal, as Smith has one remaining year. You offered a trade that brings them a guy they don't need(Martin) and two busts with 2 and 3 year contracts. Also no picks involved from us, which means in the end Hawks give up Smith for hot air and no value in return, also lowering their future outlook by getting no picks in return. If you really think this trade is realistic even in one parallel universe, you're as delusional as it gets. Posting a trashy proposal with a lack of realism and then saying I look bad, great.
Why? They sound like they really want to continue this mediocrity treadmill. They really do. Putting veterans in front of our rookies. Putting just enough together to maybe pull out a 500 record and no playoffs again. Sounds like Morey career is on suicide watch if this happens again. I mean to be hovering around the 14th pick every year is suicide on his part at some point. This is starting to worry me. I sincerely hope there is a Kevin Martin trade on the horizon or Morey is seriously messing with this teams future with all these mid round draft selection moves. Seriously we could be near last years teams in terms of record once again. Is that good? Its not.
This is great! Another asset to be traded for another asset to be traded for another asset to be traded for another asset......... Does anyone know what an asset really is? It's a little donkey.
It's just salary we HAVE to take on to hit the minimim salary cap. Rockets 2012-13 at 47mil and minimum needed is 49.3mil
Thank you... That is exactly what I was going for... Only him in a picture from the Olympics would have been better
Does minnesota own another lottery bound teams pick to trade to us? Even before you add Martin to the wolves they look like a probable playoff team, with him they are just about a lock.
