One of those three don't belong in that sentence, and another one certainly didn't play like one of the best pgs in the league.

Talking about Lowry, the best trade I can get in NBA2K11 is always for a toronto 1st round pick. LOL. And that pick always turn out to be a very good one.

Well, it's not the one you highlighted then. People don't realize how good Kyrie was last season.

Understanding PER isn't everything he nonetheless put up a 21.4 PER. Which compares to Rondo's 17.5, Deron's 20.3, Rose's 22.9, Westbrooks 22.9, Nash's 20.3, Parker's 22. So he does belong, at least offensively. He also took and made a bunch of clutch shots last year.

he needs to get better defensively, no doubt, and will become a better distributor.

As to the topic at hand, if Lin compares favorably to Lowry last year, that's a great thing. Lowry was really good, until he got hurt. He was legitimately all-star caliber. But even before he got hurt, he started reverting a bit. Because Lowry's game effectively comes down to outside shooting. It opens up his entire offensive arsenal and makes him a ton better. He started out and spent much of the first 50%+ of last year on fire from an outside shooting perspective. But he started to get worse, then got injured, and it went downhill.

I hope Lowry vs. Calderon is a distraction. I had some slight concerns briefly that adding Lowry, Jonas and Ross could make the Raptors a legit 9th seed type team in the East, which wouldn't be a good pick. And it's still possible. But Jonas and Ross seem like they'll need a fair amount of time, and I can certainly see Lowry vs. Calderon as a distraction. I see every team that finished ahead of them last year except for the Magic likely to do so again. And the Nets, Washington and Cleveland could all leapfrog them as well. That would make them, the Bobcats and Magic the cellar dwellers of the East. certainly hope so for the Rockets draft pick, but I guess they could surprise nonetheless.

On the offensive end, Lin's weakest area last season was his decision-making in transition. According to Synergy Sports, Lin was one of the worst players in transition, posting a PPP of 0.857, placing him in the bottom 12 percent of all NBA players. Lin's big problem in transition? Turnovers. Last season with the Knicks, Lin gave up the ball on 26.2 percent of his transition possessions.

In transition, Lin looks very uncomfortable with the basketball. Maybe it's because he doesn't like being forced to rush and make a quick decision. It should be noted that Lin is at his best in the half-court, where he is able to dominate the ball, survey the situation, and then make a decision when under control. On the break, Lin is too quick to get the ball out of his hands. These rushed passes tend to either miss their marks or go through congested passing lanes, leading to deflected balls and turnovers.

Defense is really hard to quantify, but one of the best ways to do so is to look at Synergy Sports' isolation numbers. Using those metrics, Lin rates poorly. In isolation situations, he allowed a PPP of 0.971 (bottom 16 percent among NBA players) on 45.1 percent shooting last season. Defensively, Lin really struggles keeping his man in front of him, and that shows both on tape and in the numbers. According to Synergy Sports, he allowed his man to drive to the basket on 80.9 percent of the isolation possessions that he defended against.

This comes down to lateral quickness. Lin just can't stay in front of NBA-quality point guards. Most of the time, he uses his smarts and his body position to stay in front of his man during initial dribble penetration, but it's when his opponent changes direction that he has trouble.

He isn't an excellent defender he is average. Quicker guards are usually able to get past him, usually what he does best is trail his defender and grab a steal or sometimes block his shot. His team defense is usually where he is best at and he plays the passing lanes well. But in terms of keeping guys in front of him that his where he is weakest at.

I dunno watching Lin's games, transition is where is better.

Probably due to the fact a lot of his NY teamates would fumble the ball or miss a catch made it look worse stat wise

He was never at any point in the discussion....

    CP3
    Rose
    Rondo
    Tony Parker
    Nash
    D. Will
    Westbrook

are all handily better than him....

I would pick Irving over him as well and a few PGs are around his level.

Hmm, you originally said you thought he could possibly be in the All-Star game, then Sooty remarks that he will definitely pass up the D-Will and Rondo (which I thought he was being sarcastic) and then you go on to say that the All-Star game is just a popularity contest....which when coupled with your original statement, lends to the idea that you believe Lowry is somehow going to be more popular in Toronto then Houston.

I guess I never dreamed that someone would be ignorant enough to believe that there was a potential for Toronto to vote anyone into the All-Star games....or that anyone in the league gives a damn about Toronto period. So I went with the idea that you must actually think he is better than them.

I guess this potentially is my fault, as it was beyond my comprehension someone who watched the NBA thought a player was going to get popular in Toronto. My apologies for being so obtuse.........................................

keep in mind that last year was like Jeremy Lin rookie year, so Jeremy Lin will learn a lot from last year and improve.

If you watched Jeremy lin play, and how he wheeled his team to wins, I don't think any of you would be questioning whether he is better than dragic or lowry. IMO he is better now and in the future, he will be way better than both

Pretty sure it's not Morey having the patience issues, it's more likely that Les is the one with the issues waiting. I've been waiting since I followed basketball, right before Yao got drafted to see us do some consistent contending in the playoffs. Still waiting..

In New York, I followed closely during the two weeks of Linsanity with the 7 games winning streak, including wins over Dallas and LA Lakers.

He basically led a bunch of bench players and made them better they really are, He put them in the right place to excel, guys such as Steve Novak and landry fields. They believed in him and gave a 100 percent every game.

There's no reason why he shouldn't be able to do this in Houston, Chandler Parsons already believe in him, there should be many more to follow.

You know Lowry can also make the EAS roster by the coaches' votes, right? He won't be starting, but he'll be in the game, regardless.

    If he produces.
