Romney is "too exhausted to make the trip" he scheduled for Orlando.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...romney-cancels-orlando-stop-citing-exhaustion

Yet another screw-up by the Romney campaign. You can say you are sick and you can say you are hoarse, but you cannot say you are exhausted. Weak, pampered rich guy is too tired to make even a 20 minute appearance?

In his first run, Clinton was sick and very hoarse yet still made a ridiculous number of appearances in the latter stages of the campaign, including some the night before the election.

exactly. That is what people loved about Clinton. Just because the right didn;'t see him that way doesn't mean others did not.

Hmmm, will Romney be too exhausted to call in Seal Team 6 late at night... that phone doesn't answer itself.

May have to re-think my vote for the Romney ticket.

Boehner points out another reason to not vote for Obama:

“The president continues to blame anyone and everyone for the drought but himself.”

But he was able to make it to an appearance at a convicted drug dealer's place of business. HMMMMMMMM.

After the Euro fiasco, the tax return flap, the Ryan VP pick, and now this, I'm seriously questioning Romney's ability to lead and make sound decisions...

Host for Romney event is a convicted drug dealer

    Updated 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012

MIAMI (AP) — Mitt Romney held a campaign event Monday evening at a Miami juice shop owned by a convicted cocaine trafficker.

Romney appeared at El Palacio de los Jugos, which is owned by Reinaldo Bermudez. Court records show that Bermudez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in 1999 and served three years in federal prison.

Appearing with Romney was Sen. Marco Rubio. Both men handed out juices to an excited crowd after making brief remarks. Romney was filming a campaign ad at the juice shop, aides said.

The Romney campaign didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Phone calls placed by The Associated Press to the juice shop weren't answered.

Bermudez told the Miami New Times that the Secret Service vetted everything about him when the Romney campaign asked to use his fresh fruit and vegetable stand and that they knew about his criminal record.

"Here in Miami there are a lot people with money who have had problems with the law," Bermudez told the New Times. "Thankfully, we all have the opportunity in this country to re-enter society when we've done something wrong."

In media reports in November 1997, Bermudez was identified as one of 12 people accused in a Colombian drug smuggling operation. The arrests followed a seven-month investigation led by the FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Agents seized about 2,850 pounds of cocaine at three South Florida ports over several months.

Agents first seized 430 pounds of cocaine at the Port of Palm Beach in July 1997 and then 117 pounds in late September at the Port of Miami. Those shipments were concealed in containers filled with fish imported from Trinidad, an island in the south Caribbean. The largest and final seizure came in late October at Port Everglades, where officials found 2,304 pounds of cocaine in a container of soap imported from Venezuela.

Authorities learned of all three cocaine shipments through court-authorized wiretaps on four of the suspects' home, office and cellular telephones, according to media reports.

As a convicted felon, Bermudez wouldn't be eligible to vote in Florida unless the governor and the Cabinet restore his rights.

Why can't Romney make a point without lying?

There are only a few problems with this. The first is that Obama didn't necessarily "cut" Medicare; he limited the expected rate of growth in the program on the supplier side by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse, mostly in Medicare Advantage. And the savings that Obama achieved are adopted by Ryan in his own budget.

Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith emailed the following statement:

Mitt Romney’s ad is dishonest and hypocritical. The savings his ad attacks do not cut a single guaranteed Medicare benefit, and Mitt Romney embraced the very same savings when he promised he’d sign Paul Ryan’s budget. Because the President is eliminating subsidies to insurance companies and cutting waste and fraud, we’ve extended the life of Medicare by eight years. The truth is that the Romney-Ryan budget would end Medicare as we know it: people with Medicare would be left with nothing but a voucher in place of the guaranteed benefits they rely on today. And they do it all to pay for massive tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires – the very same top-down economic scheme that crashed our economy and devastated the middle class in the first place.

    We rate this ad:

Interesting topic. I just didn't care for this sentence. That just sounds like partisan sour grapes.

    Wild right?

Romney's running an ad attacking the president on a budget cut Ryan's budget calls for.

It would be intriguing if Ryan won and President Ryan had his plan enacted. The massive depression that would result would pretty much end American domination of the world prematurely by about 40 years but it might also kill the REpublican party forever.

It might also lead to genuine class warfare.

I always find it strange how people can support policies that have a very real possibility of leading to the sort of societal overthrow that they seem the most afraid of.

I think they really are disconnected from reality. It's kinda sad actually.

In other news, Obama made a dog joke and Romney lost it apparently....calling Obama's campaign a disgrace and went on a brutal and unseemly attack. Complaining about how negative and divisive Obama is, but forgetting to mention he is lying about pretty much everything himself and failing to mention he is running 10 million in fresh new negative ads against Obama.

I think Romney looks at the gentry as people they can manipulate. I really do think Republicans running his campaign must think people are really stupid.

This is going to a blow out. Obama is going to get 55% of the vote if Romney doesn't get it together soon.
