I enjoy Biden and think he's a smart guy, but Obama/ H. Clinton IMHO would be unstoppable.

    Thoughts?

I don't think so. I have no info to back this up but I don't think she energizes the base or pulls independents. I think the only way she helps is as a full time fundraiser.

She could probably help raise more money if that was her full time job, and she is less likely to put her foot in her mouth.
She could also be a huge distraction of Dems really need to change the subject for some reason.

she totally would change the election. Every woman and their mama would be voting to have the first female VP and a Clinton in office.

Like they did when McCain nominated that...nut? Or if Romney had lost his mind and picked Bachmann?

First woman VP doesn't mean a thing. I don't think it would help at all, as Biden has the image of a generally dependable guy who stays out of the way and lets Obama do his thing. Hillary would distract from that and would fire up the right wing base more.

I'll be the first to admit that Obama has the advantage for now. He doesn't need to run giant risks because of that, obviously.

With Hillary you get Bill and everyone remembers the roaring 90's...

That's a disrespect to our women.

I am sure most can differentiate between nut-jobs and legit candidates.

Are you seriously comparing Clinton to Palin?

I don't think the right can be any more fired up than they already are.

Hillary Clinton *hates* Barack Obama. Pure hatred. Her life's goal was stripped from her by this unqualified, lazy buffoon who attacked her in a dishonest manner and played the race card to win the election. She does not trust him at all (rightly so), and she continues to harbor resentment towards him. Listen, no one likes to be lectured by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Hillary is/was no exception. She spent most of her adult life in politics, building towards that moment in 2008, only to have the media and DNC operatives choose sides against her and hand the election to the guy who's great at reading a teleprompter and not really anything else.

She will never -- NEVER -- be Obama's VP. Never.

Would Obama be smart to replace Biden, the man who clearly lacks the mental capacity to serve as VP, much less President if needed? Yes, absolutely. The problem is that there really aren't a lot of good replacement candidates out there. The Republican bench is much much stronger.

You are a sad little man Jorge. Nothing you just said about Mr Obama and Ms Clinton is true.

Everything I said is 100% true. I have far greater access to information and people than you do. Remember that.

    For Obama or Clinton?

All adding HRC would do is fire up the Hillary-lovers who drool at the prospect of her running for president in 2016.

Don't think he'll do it. Would look like panic move. Not Presidential.

I think Biden is fine as long as he continues playing the good-natured bumbling idiot on the stump. As bumbling idiot, he can say stuff like, "they want to unchain wall street" and get away with it amid shrugs and roll-eyes.

Ryan doesn't seem to carry a blue collar persona. He has charisma, but not sure if it'll be "folksy" enough to be a difference in motivating people to vote. I think there has to be a need where he can put himself in a position of trust and authority for his strengths to deliver. Not happening right now...

That's the reason not to do it.

And why would Obama mess with anything when he's been given such gifts in these opponents and when things are looking so good for him? Romney had to shake up the dynamic because things were going poorly for him so he made a dramatic, risky pick in Ryan; Obama doesn't have that problem.

It really wasn't possible in 2008 but I do think an Obama-Clinton ticket would be amazing and if (goodness forbid) something were to happen to make Biden unable to run, I'd almost get on a plane to whatever country she was in to beg Hillary myself.

Meanwhile, I'm cool with Joe and I always have been. He's good people and, despite his history of colorful gaffes, he has distinguished himself as one of the greater statesmen of our time. And too he comes from working folks; he will acquit himself well in the debate with regard to the Ryan budget and its calamitous consequences for working people (and those still seeking work) in this country.

But Obama/Anybody vs. Romney/Ryan is a laugher. This thing's gonna make Bob Dole's run look good.

I think the election is going to be close-- the economy isn't helping Obama's #s and the reports (from Nate Silver and others) show that a larger than usual % of voters have made up their minds. The electoral college map seems like it's helping Obama though.
