    damn that would be sick.

only think better would be a 1 on 1 tourney, and not sure why that isn't a consideration ahead of 3 on 3. would be coolest **** ever.

1 on 1 but there's only one requirement -- no NBA/FIBA experience allowed.

When I saw "3-on-3" in the title, my mind added, "...hot chick action".

Hey, I'm at work. My mind drifts, you know?

US could get more than one team like volley ball. Maybe Lebron/Wade/Bosh vs Durant/Westbrook/Harded vs Kobe/Howard/Nash(I bet he has dual citizenship)

Honestly, not really too excited about more basketball in the Olympics. 3-on-3 would be even more one-sided than the regular Olympic basketball.

Probably wouldn't be able to do that and the regular basketball tournament at the same time.

This would be best suited for a half court, make-it/take-it format.

That's sad. I spent many a college hour watching the And1 tour instead of going to class.

If there's 2-on-2 beach volleyball, why can't there be 3-on-3 basketball? It doesn't make sense that basketball is played for pretty much the entire duration of the Olympics and there are only two gold medals. 3-on-3 would double that number and expand the audience for basketball. Smaller nations that couldn't otherwise afford a regular sized basketball team could send a 3-man team, and- we could see USA super teams go head-to-head.

I can't imagine the top level guys participating...first, they'll be busy with the real USA team, and second, they have too much to lose, if they get hooped up. Expect guys like JR Smith and Parsons though.

As for the competition, don't expect USA to run away with it. Other countries need to put together teams that are 5-8 deep that can beat our best. In 3 on 3, they'll just need 3 guys who can beat our best of the rest.

It'd be similar to indoor and beach volleyball. None of players do both, its one or the other. The top level guys wont do both

Also there'd have be some kind of qualifying tournament for the Olympics. Its not like you can just send third team NBA guys not on the regular national team. They'd need to find a way and time to fit in the top talents who have time to train and prepare for that, for even the Jr Smith, Chandler Parsons guys even. Otherwise itd be the best Division 2 college players and under with the most time on their hands.

But then perhaps some NBA players who know they arent Olympic bound will want to spend their offseason on a 3 on 3 team.

I think we should add HORSE to the Olypmics. That's more popular than 3 on 3 basketball.

If they want to clamp a U-23 rule on Olympic basketball, do it on this.
