I was actually hoping for Micheal Redd, but then rox need to hold on to some of those Argentinean fans. Smart player, work hard on both ends of the floor, provide leadership.

Whats not to like? Especially when the 2 and 3 spot is essentially Martin, Lamb, Parsons and 3 rookies ( I count morris as rookie as he did not played much ) who are playing as small forward because they are not big enough.

    Great Move IMO.
Someone's gotta teach Lamb how to play defence...
    Delfino is GREAT defensively.
Other players will rub off on his intensity.
It will help the development of our rookies and NOT hinder them.
Also a tradable contract at the deadline, does not affect our cap next summer..

Rookies don't just develop by themselves, they need to be shown the way...

Martin has to go now, or Lamb isn't gonna see the court.

Don't forget about Toney Douglas either. I expect most of his minutes to be at the two.

Unless we can trade Martin for a good player or 2 other expiring contracts, we might just keep him on the team and let him expire.

That being said, I see no reason as to why Jeremy Lamb can beat out Martin for more minutes. Martin might start, but Lamb can avg more minutes than him...not to mention knowing Kmart..he'll probably get injured with a broken nail 2 games into the season :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

It's pretty straightforward. Daryl Morey is doing what Les Alexander wants. We're going to try to win as many games as possible this year and attempt to make the playoffs while retaining flexibility for a big move.

Delfino fits with this vision. He makes the roster marginally better and his partially-guaranteed deal will be an attractive trade asset next season.

We are not tanking or rebuilding. Les is old and losing makes him frowny-face sad sad, and the great thing about owning an organization is that said organization must submit to your wishes, no matter how counterproductive or short-sighted they might be.

Clutchfans Plan B after Dwight was that we are "tanking"…

We aren't tanking.. Morey is trying to put the most competitive team together to make the playoffs.. He isn't trading Kmart either.. he will keep him and let him walk..

Also, Delfino is a 3.. so i bet he will be coming off the bench behind parsons..

this will hurt Royce Whites playing time and development. Also, T Jones will be 3rd behind PPat and D-mo.. and Lamb will be behind Kmart.. only one that will see court time is Lamb.. even M Morris will never see the court behind Parsons and Delfino..

i've never heard Morey say we either get dwight or tank.. that was made up on here by the all the posters that were hoping this would happen..

he signed him to a 1 year deal to keep us competitive for next season to make ANOTHER run at a superstar next summer.. this will continue as long as Les owns the team.. we will never tank under Les.. we will just sign 1 year contracts to Vets to keep us mediocre.. and keep people in the arena to make les a little money..

this move is just putting lipstick on a pig. Why make a such a move? Ok you missed out on Howard and Bynum. Move forward with the young guys. The more talent Morey brings in with role players, the more they keep putting themselves in that 14th slot again in the draft.

This just makes it apparent that Alexander is NO different than that carnival barker Uncle Drayton. Never wanting to build with the young guys, and doing whatever necessary to throw out a product that winds up treading water. Not making the playoffs, and picking to low to truly get an impact player at the top of draft.

I somewhat agree but you're taking it a bit far. This roster got tore up from the floor up. I like revamped roster.

Why? Why are we doing this? Are we going to have the same approach like last couple years? then I should quit this owner.

    1. Rookies don't have to be thrown in the deep end and play starter's minutes to develop. And, having some vets around to show the way is actually helpful. If Lamb has what it takes to be a great player, having Delfino around isn't going to stop him.

    2. We're still a far cry from the 14th pick. I doubt Delfino brings us much closer. Don't worry. We're going to be really bad unless Morey does something big.

    3. Surprised some people haven't yet gotten the memo. This is a tank job. I know signing Delfino is a pretty good smokescreen and all, but we just got rid of almost the entire rotation from last season and mostly replaced it with rookies and back-ups. Half the guys we lost for pennies on the dollar or nothing at all! It's a ************* tank job!

Suddenly Morey thinks the fresh blood are not ready for nba. This team is going back to the 14th pick cycle after total loss in DH12 gamble. Waived Scola. Lowry and Dragic gone. Now all jokes.

Vegas disagrees. I think we have the 8th best odds to win a ship.

Pretty interesting that so many people think that a Delfino signing is the difference between a bottom 5 team and a 14th seed. You would think we're signing some type of star here, having that big of an impact.

Exactly. Most of the off season moves are pointless now without the final step.

If Delfino is brought in to teach Lamb the ropes I'm all for it. He'd better be coming off the bench as soon as the young guys are ready to do it.

This also probably means Martin's days in Houston are numbered (as they may have been for a while).

This is conflicted with other moves in this off season. Why would we let those best veteran players in Scola, Dragic, Lowry go in the first place?
