This is mine, hope the link works.

While blocking the view of the train isn't the end of the Astros, it is one of the few things MMP has that other stadiums don't. When the roof is open, the view of downtown during night games was great, now it sucks.

    Is there anyone defending this?

I know right, now we don't have the view of downtown...its not like there's a game or anything. Lol, I know that during day games it can get very hot, so that can block some of the sun. I don't know I haven't been to a game this year.

    Hard to say.

Do the Astros still hit home runs?

I haven't been watching many of the games this year so I hadn't noticed this, but that is really ugly. What's the point of having all those windows if you are just going to cover everything up with signage?

I know that this was mentioned in the uniform thread and not really news, but I was told that the removal of the trains is basically a done deal. I have not been able to confirm is this will mean the end of the great, Junction Jack. I will follow up.

Yes they still run the train, or at least they did at the beginning of the season.

I'm serious about the HRs. I watched them in BP earlier this season, and only saw 2 HR the entire time, while I saw Brandon Phillips hit at least 5 bombs by himself in another.

The money doesn't even go to the Astros:

There's a strong possibility they take down both the train and Tal's Hill. They've hinted at doing both recently.

The hill and the train don't bother me. This, on the other hand... I've been to MMP twice this year and both times, I want to tear that damn thing apart.

I'm still trying to understand why the train would be removed. The hill presents injury concerns for players, as does the stupid flag pole which is the one definite change I'd make.

Definitely could have found a better place to display that signage, especially given how plain and boring it is.

I am in the small majority that likes the hill and the flagpole. The signs, however, are just horrible. Surely there is a better way to honor those donors.

    In the small majority?

I like the hill. I love the train (given the building was a train station, otherwise it would be stupid).

    Hate the flagpole.

Time to paint the windows... make the fences uniform... get rid of the train... get rid of the pole/hill...put more ads up all around the fences/windows/scoreboard... and put a seal on the roof so you can't open it.

    Astrodome 2.0.

Hell, everybody wants those 90's uniforms back (that still have the Astrodome logo on it).

(for the record, the above is sarcasm... I think they're messing with this stadium far too early.... in 30 years, these things would be considered part of the "charm"... now in 30 years, removing these things may be equivalent to removing the large scoreboard in the Astrodome).

Wow, first time someone has mentioned that, the reason the train is there in the first place. The main/flashiest entrance to MMP is where Union Station used to be. The little history MMP had, or should I say "tried to create," is gone.

It's good that the money is going to the community, but there must have been another place to put them.

Injury risk on Tal's Hill? I can't think of anyone ever getting injured. Plus, are there more than 5 balls a year that get hit there anyways?

Nobody has gotten hurt yet. Some players have said it concerns them. The hill definitely isn't in play very often (who wants to hit to 436 when they could pull the ball to 315?).
