probably still adjusting after howard trade. not a lot of bets on houston so it might be reflecting the expectation we were going to land howard. I am sure our odds will drop over time.

As much as I don't agree with the odds, the odds makers are usually correct. Of course not all the time but they get paid to put out these lines and always seem to get paid.

 

Haha... someone from ESPN made a typo (after Lakers and Heat) and grabbed the odds from WEEEEKS ago before half these trades and FA deals happened.

It's not even just Lin and Asik. They also believe in our rookies. I don't know. We will see i guess. If we make it to the playoffs with the current roster I can't complain. That means that the Rockets are a lot better than originally thought. Even if it is a first round sweep, that means the roster has some serious talent and potential.

Im sure the odds are set in part by wagers booked - i.e. more bets on Rox = better odds / lower payouts. I would Love to know how much of this is true sports analytics and how much is red-eyed fandom.

When is Rose back? I know it's a 2-year injury but I've also heard people/talking heads say he will be back by Jan/Feb? That might explain some of it.

There is a lot of talk as to when he is coming back. Nothing has been officially confirmed and Rose has been mum about it. I could see him being out the entire season to be honest. The bulls have said that they will not rush him at all and that he will only play when the doctors are willing to stake there career on his 100% health.

 

Agreed. Who puts our team full of rookies at the same odds as the Spurs?

 

In terms of winning the championship it would be the Lakers but yeah.
