Delfino is close to being on the wrong side of 30......why sign him?

Bench D (as it stands): Douglas (perimeter), White (post), Jones (PnR), Johnson (perimeter, PnR), Harrellson (post)

Not saying elite, but not too bad. I'm sure Morey is not done yet either.

You know...I like Carlos Delfino a lot. Not sure I like him as a 3rd shooting guard. Don't see the need.

Much will depend on Martin's fate I suppose.

He will be on the wrong side of 30 after his contract with the Rockets is up. Think of him as another 1 year asset.

    No doubt!

I have no idea where the minutes are gonna come from for White and Jones.

They can play 3 for sure, but with Delf and Parse....i just dunno.

    4 is PPat and Motie.

Some surrious PT comp is about to ensue!

Maybe Delf is meant to play back-up 2, which means Martin gotta be on the way.

Lamb can't be 3rd SG, right????

I seriously hope that as the season progresses the lineup will flesh out.

    More moves coming, clearly....

I just hope that they don't give up any of the 4 2012ers.

I just don't see where Jones, White will find minutes unless some people go.

They must have some INCREDIBLY inventive lineups in-store for us...lol

While I wouldn't have used the same words (or grammar), this is actually a good point.

The Rockets are well set up for a free agency run, and as we all should be well aware of by now, destination matters. I have been all for letting the young guys play and getting a great draft pick, but I wonder if DM feels stronger about his chances in free agency than building through the draft. After all, a terrible season doesn't guarantee you the draft pick to get the player you want, and there's no guarantee in how that player will perform.

So maybe it is in Houston's best interest to not completely suck? I mean, until recently, who wanted to play for the Clippers?

We know the three ways to build a team (draft, trade, free agency), but it would be really interesting to hear DM's thoughts on which methods are more viable/likely to succeed.

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty safe signing. Not what I wanted to read when I first clicked on the GARM, but after giving it some thought, very little downside. Delfino is a trade-able commodity who can provide some veteran leadership to our inexperienced players without greatly effecting the won/loss column.

Sounds very similar to the Dalembert type deal here. Low value worth a with good high end risk/reward. Adding to the asset farm!

Have you been to the TC when it's Hispanic night? Tickets sell out and crowd is alive.

I can't help but be excited for a new player to wear rockets red, regardless of who it is. Delfino has a lot to offer this team and I'm happy to have him on board.

The reality of it, delfino will not lead us to a championship anymore than Royce white or Terrence jones will.

I just enjoy watching new guys play.

Occasionally, you have to step back from it all and just enjoy the game.

i don't get it? why wouldn't he stay in philly? i mean, everyone expected Dwight to stay in Houston if he got here, despite all reports, but Bynum is going to turn down guaranteed money in philly? not likely.

Good posts. Don't see many like these. Whenever I hear of a player addition it always excites me, just to switch things up and see some new players play.

Jefferson has the McHale connection. This is the reason he is always brought up. That and without Scola we won't have any fancy post moves to oggle over :(

I'm not sure. It looks like we're gonna try and battle-fight for the eight seed while landing the 14th pick in dramatic fashion.
