    Hatfields vs. McCoys.......It never stops!

Personally I'd rather have Lin/Lamb give their opinion
and speak to the media instead of a player with 100 tatoos,
10 baby-mommas and likes to make it rain
    ......if they want to
thank God while their at it I gues it would be icing on the cake!...;)

If those are the only two options I agree.

It is my experience, however, that not there are people who fall in between those two extremes.

Fail. You are making too much sense. Moderacy has no place here. For shame Ottomaton. You're damned to hell for sure. :)

I do not have any issues with Lamb, Lin or the Lochness Monster being evangelical Christian. This is the USA and people "should" have the right to be any religion they want, and should be free to discuss their beliefs... likewise people have the right to disagree with their beliefs and debate the merits of religion.

My only beef is with people that seem to think that simply because Lamb is on the 700 Club that he will stay out of trouble because he is an Evangelist. This is foolish in my opinion, there have been many supposedly devout athletes that have had serious off the field/court issues.

Ultimately the fact Lamb was on the 700 Club claiming he is devout does not change my opinion of him one way or the other.

Your are losing it dude, you can't make a comeback, period. Then you start shifting the topic to what? Your taking it way too personal.

Very True Nook. Christians are human too..Pastors, Evangelists, and yes..even athletes. We're all subject to the same mistakes, lapses in judgement and stupid actions that make us human. To believe otherwise is folly. This is why I have a VERY hard time with other Christians who are judgemental or Holier than thou - A real Christian KNOWS they are a sinner and doesn't pretend they are not. Matt Bullard seems to be a good example - he spoke at a lot a church groups, did a lot of good, but didn't talk bad about or look down on others.

I wish Lin and Lamb the best in the NBA, yes the fact that they are Christians may make me like them more..but I also know that they are human and could just as easily screw up.

Its often said that living as a Christian is harder than living as a non-Christian - Because its easy to give in to the world..and its much harder to abstain from that.

If they are forcing their faith on us, what do you make of all the players with tattoos forcing all that garbage on us?

I'm realizing there are a number of believers on this blog.

It must be doubly hard to be a devout Christian in such a public sphere as professional sports. Your performance is always being critiqued as is, and now even your faith.

That's why I came to respect Lin a lot. He is vocal about his faith but he carries it in a non-offensive non-judgmental way. Look at how he handled the Melo talk. Lamb will have a good model to follow.

That said we must allow them space to be themselves, make mistakes, learn from their mistakes. They're young, still maturing.

700 Club? There was a time the show helped my faith grow although probably I have outgrown them. Still there are a lot of people they are reaching. To paraphrase Jesus (Matt 12), whoever is not against me is with me.
