what is with Jeff Ross' new thing of dressing up like someone from a current event? he was Gaddafi at the Sheen roast and Sandusky at this one. It's not funny and it dates the roast by a LOT... if you were to watch this years from now, you'd be a bit confused and have to remember what year it was filmed to get the "bit"
why is everybody so critical of it? better than this, wish they didn't do this, etc....who cares? surely all of you had some good laughs a handful of times. i enjoy every one of them.
I think her being so funny increases her sex appeal. Speaking for me, at least. I find her hilarious, so that cute chunky funny girl turns into a sexy funny girl with nice tatters.
Can I watch this online anywhere? I'm not going to be home till Sat and don't have access to CC. I tried their website but they only show highlights. Thanks in advance.
So what's the point of these roasts? Personally I don't find them interesting. So these people volunteer to be made fun of for an evening?
You have to go back to the days of the Friar Roasts.. Where it was initially nothing but highly respected comedians and their inner group of respected comedian friends. Where as we would deem cracking a beer open with someone for a drink to be an act of endearment between two friends, a comedians act of endearment between two friends would be to take cracks at each other. Taking busting balls to another level but they always did it out of love. So a roast, where a room full of comedians just tears into the roastee, would be them celebrating the life/career/success of, in ceremonial fashion. Just over time the Roasts (much like anything) has become "mainstreamed" into what it is now. The roasts of the past weren't always about finding the biggest low-blow, low brow jokes as much as it is now - but those bigger low-blow, low brow jokes are what's put these roasts on the mainstream map.
Jeff Ross is probably the last remaining comedian that attempts to restore and maintain some integrity connected between the celebrity roasts of today and the friar roasts of the past
