Just wondering since our PF spot is up in the air. It's almost a lock that PPat will start the beginning of the season, but there are lots of question marks on his game as a pick and pop player with no post moves. My assumption is that either one of D-Mo or T-Jones will rise up and take the starting spot from Pat. Can PPat prove himself and keep the starter spot? Will an unexpected player take it like Royce or Morris? How early will this player take the starting spot and flourish? What are your thoughts?
What's up with all the 'fast forward to the end of the season' threads?(OK, 2) Are you dreading it that much? Ha. Season ending starting lineup? Season ending starting PF? Can't wait for the season ending starting SG? Can we get to the beginning of the season first?
DMo though I can see him getting significant minutes at the 5 during the season as well - think this is the direction McHale was looking at things since DMo is a legit 7 footer. DMo will be a PF like Duncan is a "PF."
I laugh a little every time I read that some poster claims Pat is a lock to start the season as the starter. Morey has said in multiple interviews that the 4 spot is up for grabs. If Pat can't prove he is as good or better than the other candidates during training camp and pre-season then he will not start.
just wait, let me check my crystal ball and while i'm at it i'll get you the lottery numbers for next week.
Just to clear things up, i don't really care about what happens at the end of the season. I only make that point because it really doesn't matter who is our starte at the beginning of the season, since things change based on level of play of all our players. Would you like me to rename the question to: "Who will earn the PF spot throughout this season?" Does that make you happy princess? Seriously, some people are just so picky and quick to negatively judge threads. It's a legitimate question. If you think it's a stupid question because it's a "crystal ball" question, then don't bother joining CF. Most of the topics here are based on the future? Questions like is Howard, Bosh, Pau coming? Will Lamb be a greeat player, etc etc. These are all crystall ball questions and perfectly fine questions to ask. Jeez.
All 5 will play major minutes so what does it matter? I'm just glad we can let the youngsters grow together
Agreed. Will be great to watch them grow. The only issue having so many rookies in the same year is what will happen when their contracts are up? Which ones will be good enough to demand a lot of money? Also hopin for a top 3 pick next draft. Our current batch plus a superstar would be beastly in 4 years time.
Jones. He'll be the most consistent and he'll take minutes away from the development of D-Mo unfortunately. Jones will be a solid role player while D-Mo will be labeled as a bust.
Valid question IMO. Since the PF spot is open for competition and since all of the candidates are so young, who starts opening night could very well change by seasons end.
