You could line the players up on both teams and see who was going to win....barring a major injury or an insane explosion. Not surprising in the least. I don't think USA ever really turned it up.

B/c they don't have team chemistry, which is huge for defensive discipline and offensive continuity.

The NBA championship would have won the Gold easily too. But team USA depended primarily on talent, and nothing else. They ran poor offensive sets and just jacked up 3s. They can't depend the pick and roll to save their lives.

If this team stayed together for 3-4 straight months, they would have blown everyone out by 30+ points with ease.

Goodness do they really have to bring up the Dream Team? A pointless debate.

    This.

    However:

Knowing you're the best team in the world > knowing you're the best team in the NBA.

If Colangelo hires an NBA coach for the next olympic coach, we could be in trouble. NBA coaches are known for their stubborn ways and not being able to adapt to FIBA/olympic rules, plus rotations based on seniority instead of what's best for team chemistry.

And now they were debating who the next coach should be, of course Doug Collins is thrown in there for the sympathy aspect. IMO, Doug Collins would be horrible decision because he would over coach with the I know olympics better than anyone crap, plus his 72 team didn't get the job done and he'll want the team to be about his personal redemption story. Sorry Doug, but you don't get rewarded for coming up short.

Nope. Best team in NBA is due to hard work. Best team in the world for the US is by default.

I don't think they ever really felt challenged. We all know that Paul, LBJ, Melo, Kobe etc. are capable of far more than they showed tonight. It just wasn't needed.

    What?

I'm saying that, knowing you're the best in the world generates stronger feelings than knowing you're the best in your league.

Even if that league is the best in the world. lol

If people are tuning in to watch them debate then it is hardly pointless.

Its about the $$$ if you want it to stop, turn it off. :)

AGREED! When Lebron poured water on his head I half expected the dye to run all over Coach K's face...

Also, I'm again supremely impressed by CP3 again. As always he knows how to control the flow of the game and bring it in the 4th.
