Even if the Romney-Ryan candidacy is crushed, the campaign to end social security, medicare and public education and turn them ala privtization into profit streams will continue until we can end the system of having an increasingly small number of wealthy folks fund the politicians. Only if a lot of the Congress is defeated due to the Ryan Plan will it be seen as a mandate to back off on this conservative wet dream.

Not necessarily. Many Republicans do not support Ryan's plan. This is key.

If Obama wins re-election - the Republicans have much less incentive to play gridlock. Especially since the 2014 elections will have them more at risk in the senate, and there will be no major legislation like Obamacare to rally around. Simply blocking progress won't work again. They will need to compromise.

Romney/Ryan loss would basically give Obama a mandate. Especially if the election tilts heavily in Obama's favor which it might now because of Florida. Further more the economy looks to be about ready to rebound. The Euro crisis and China slowdown may actually help by keeping oil prices low and letting the U.S. economy pick up steam.

 

The "OMG RYAN GONNA WIPE FLOOR WITH BIDEN" thing is rather silly.

First, Biden has proven himself to be a serious legislator for ages and knows his way around an election debate.

Second, this is an election event, not a college debate team contest. You are trying to get viewers to like and respect you more than just trying to win attacks on debate points. Trying to wipe the floor with your opponent would likely be the worst thing you can do, especially when voters generally like the guy.

Also that's not a gaffe. No Americans care about it. 'you didn't build that' is a gaffe. Calling corpsmen the 'corpse men' is a gaffe. That stuff turns off tons of people.

Rand was against coercion of all kind---most notably state, but also religious coercion. To pick and choose, as I originally said, from the "testament" you're quoting from is a key deficit of this new demographic of religious "Randians".

Rand hated collectivism. Religion is the ultimate expression of collectivism.
