You don't even believe the garbage you are spewing. Ryan is not the top economic mind, he couldn't even prevent defectors in his own party from voting against his incomplete budgetary plans.

Good luck convincing the public that Ryan is fiscally responsible. He supported the bailouts and increased Medicare part D. Problem is that he then attempted to get rid of Medicare.

This is simply an amazingly bad choice. Ryan flip flops as much as Romney and his voting record is prime for the picking.

Why go after Florida or other important states when you can seek Wisconsin. Obama is not losing Wisconsin.

Amazing! Romney just continues to shot himself in the foot! What a sad and pathetic candidate!

Put Ryan in a room with a Stiglitz or even a Krugman, and all you'll have left is a bloody stump of whatever ideas he espouses.

The "intellectual leader" from the G.O.P...because he suddenly thought up of ways of justifying Republican debt-mongering, a phenomenon that has been taking place since Reagen mounted the debt to sky-high levels?

The non-exciting GOP Presidential nominee chooses a young, good looking media star running mate that will out shine the nominee himself and give the Trader Jorges of the world boners.

    What can possibly go wrong?

Not at all. I like them very much. The question is why does Ryan have a problem with public schools and all sorts of other things that helped make America the first and greatest middle-class majority country?

Ummm yeah, you are aware that Obama's budget received zero, yes ZERO votes in the Senate, aren't you? Sad that Obama never decided to man up and lead on fiscal issues, instead sending our country spiraling down with monstrous debt and high unemployment. The Ryan pick offers a sharp contrast to the cowardly, dereliction of duty that Obama has committed on fiscal policy. A leader does not sit back and let the other side take a crack at solving our nation's problems, only to dishonestly attack that proposal. A leader leads. A leader rallies the troops and proposes solutions. Obama choose the politically convenient way out -- kick the can down the road. He prioritized his election over what the country required. Shame. SHAME.

    Wrong.

This is what a budget should look like.

Instead, the Ryan plan just kicks the football away towards balancing the deficit on the back of the poor...something, if he actually listened to his own congregation sermonizing on the topic,he would be ashamed of.

In any case, those of us who are actually learned about the topic of macroeconomics (and not from Miami University, mind you!) would simply abuse people who think the deficit is the biggest worry facing American economics.

So, after losing the Catholic vote, and not gaining any inroads for the crucial Latino vote or the women vote...one has to wonder where Romney intends to make up the 70 or so electoral vote deficit in the Electoral College?

Now Jorge again I must respectfully disagree

Mr. Obama, with a steady hand, has lead this country out of the worse economic decline since the great depression. His steady leadership has lead to the death of our most hated foreign enemy. Mr. Obama has lead the fight for universal healthcare and guided our country to the path of healthcare for all. Mr. Obama has lead us to 24 straight months of job growth; lead the rebirth of the auto industry in America. Under Mr. Obama’s leadership we are producing more domestic oil than we have in decades.

This is leadership America expects to continue. And that will not happen with a Romney/Ryan ticket. We must not return to the failead republican policies that lead us to this point.

You know all of this is true

This move does not move the needle for Romney. Net-net should have a Neutral outcome on his campaign. I thought Rubio might have been Romney's guy here.

That said, a VP choice is only a positive/negative catalyst in the near term.

I don't even understand how you can profess to be a Randian and a Catholic, though I suppose it has something to do with mental circuits that conveniently choose and pick from scripture (whether your scripture is the ultimate embodiment of collectivism...or one that focuses on destroying collectivism, and pointing to religion as delusion?).

Obama didn't submit a budget to congress. Budgets come from the House. DO you know how gov't works?

OH wait, you are just a troll. Forgot.

Simple. Ignore the poor, help the rich. Then go to mass and vote against abortion and gay marriage to go to heaven.

Last May Obama's budget was defeated in the Senate 97-0

In March Obama's budget was defeated in the House 414-0

This May Obama's budget was defeated 99-0 in the Senate

Give him a second term and I'm sure he will figure out how to make a budget.

Of course, none of those were actually the president's budget, you would know this if you actually had any clue what you were talking about, but you don't.

In a sane world, that quote would automatically disqualify him from holding any public office.

Amen. And great points above about the hilarity of reconciling Catholic faith (or any faith other than satanism/paganism/hedonism) with Ayn Rand.
