Everyone seems to be forgetting him, but I've always thought he had too negative a rep. And I've watched him since Golden State days. Seems to me like a good effort, good locker room guy with some skills. (Very) poor man's Iggy in some ways. Everyone focuses on the contract, but I've never thought he was so bad on the court.
I'm very intrigued by their team. Part of me wants to see them do well. I could see them being the 6th seed in a rematch with Boston. Although, part of me wants to see them disappoint to the point where Bynum considers signing with us. Ah well. The East will definitely be interesting this year.
should make the playoffs in the east as one of the final spots. won't compete this year. serious gaps on the bench, many similar players. will take time to develop chemistry and get used to the system. they've rebuilt the team. this isn't just Bynum instead of Iguodala. in a couple years, they could compete.
next year, regular season: 1. Heat (as long as Wade comes back 100% and no big injuries). 2-3. Celtics, Pacers. 4-6. Nets, Knicks, Bulls. 7. 76ers. 8. Hawks, maybe Cavs, Pistons.
I'm excited to see how Bynum grows. No longer have to share the ball with 2 other stars, and leaving Brown, a coach he didn't respect. 76ers are clearly his team now. Hopefully he matures.
So the bulls without d.rose will be better than philly? I say: 1-Heat 2-Celtics 3-Pacers 4-Nets 5-76ers 6-Knicks 7-8.Hawks/Bulls
I so hope the Nets and Knicks play each other as the 4th and 5th seeds in the playoffs. Would be an intense atmosphere; every home crowd would be split 50/50. Well, 60/40 since the Knicks lost Lin Sixers, Bulls, and Hawks will be fighting for last three seeds. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody like the Wizards, Bucks, or Raptors snuck in and snatched the last seed.
i just value chemistry a lot. many people probably don't value it as much. The Bulls have a lot of experience playing together, pride, they've been in battles. Coaching is awesome and all key players are familiar with it. On top of it, Rose should be back at least for a couple months. Even below 50%, he'll still be a huge upgrade. The Sixers on the other hand have lost their veteran leadership (Brand/Iggy) and their main scorer (Williams). They started adding shooters (and they needed 1 or 2) and depth at center (also needed once Brand was gone), but they ended up with too many of both. Instead they have huge gaps on the bench at 1 and 4. And they'll have to build chemistry and learn the system and each other's game. I don't think they are as good as the Bulls.
big offseason for them. they lost a lot of good players but also gained a lot of good players. will be interesting to see if they'll be better or worse. my gut says they'll be slightly worse since they're so young but the east is pretty weak.
True and I agree to a point, but the 76ers added Bynum, Richardson, and rookie power forward prospect in Moultrie (underrated). You cannot undervalue leadership, but Bynum's production alone eclipses Brand and Iguodala. The question might be can Bynum mature as player, not necessarily become a leader, but a good locker room guy. The Bulls have alot of chemistry and great coaching and will win enough games to make the playoffs. Problems: -No Derrick Rose at all, possibly or in the latter half of the year. - Other teams got better. Lost to an inferior team in the first round with home court advantage. - Lost Korver, Brewer, Asik, and Watson. 5 players gone (including Rose). - No significant moves in the offseason.
He played like an all-star with the Suns. 19 pts on 47% FG 42% 3PT, 4.4 Rebs plus was their best player (although Nash was the most important) when they made their playoff run to the conference finals. He was pretty much just relegated to a spot up shooter in Orlando.
No ideas over here, not clue in the world Did not make any sense to me to sign Lou Williams. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/222754/Jeff_Teague_Eager_To_Be_Focal_Point_Of_Hawks http://blogs.ajc.com/hawks/2012/08/...e-harris-terry-in-dallas/?cxntfid=blogs_hawks
Spencer Hawes is a slow 5. He's one of the sluggiest, slow-footed players in the whole league. Now, you are going to line him up at the 4 with another slow-footed 5 in Bynum, who is slow himself but he's probably faster than Hawes??? If Hawes plays the 5, it won't work. I don't think Doug is that dumb. I think Young or Allen starts and Hawes comes off the bench.
overrated (Moultrie) IMO. i suppose we'll see. but anyone who consistently lacks effort and defense, and after the loss bashes his teammates for lacking effort and defense, is not a very sexy prospect in my book. unless he dominates in other areas, and Moultrie didn't. To be honest, between Bynum, Turner, Holiday, J-Rich and Moultrie they now have a bunch of players with shaky attitude or personality issues or lack of composure. Then you have a black hole in Nick Young. And I don't see a strong veteran leader to put them all into place. Doug Collins will have his hands full managing personalities. Btw, they also added Darell Wright besides players you mentioned, who I like a lot, but now that they also have J-Rich (and Nick Young), there's a lot of duplication. If they kept Brand, I'd like them a lot more for next year. In hindsight, there's absolutely no need to amnesty him. They cut him to bolster their shooting and wings. But now they have too many shooting wings and lack depth at power forward and veteran leadership. It will take a year or two before they sort this roster out. But once they do, they could contend for the conference title.
he seemed out of shape too this year. i won't be surprised if he plays better and makes that contract look decent, at least short term until they can dupe the Knicks into taking him.
