it's World War Three out there. People..... ....are being killed. now I'm going to need you to piss in this radiator to get this car running.
That doesn't look half as bad as I thought it would look. The original was a classic. The same way that Showgirls was a classic.
The good news is they're trading strategic plausibility for racial subtext, while not alienating our largest, most powerful allies (China now, and nominally Russia then) in the process.
Dude......you stole my joke. Except I wasn't thinking McDonalds.....I was thinking of the original movie......so maybe a chicken coup or grain silo.
The first one was a right wing masterpiece. Shut your mouth, you commie pinko! Seriously though, the original was awesome. Too many great scenes to list em all, and the ending was both sad and powerful.
Doesnt look as bad as I thought it'd be. Or maybe its Chris Hemsworth's emerging rep helping get finished for years movies released like this one and Cabin in the Woods. Lending it some credibility Still there's a certain lack of "charisma" in the leads and presentation now in films. Maybe movies don't need it now, but its that quality that gave movies of the 80's its flavor. But at that time just a closeup of a guy putting on some war paint and bandana in a scene was "impactful" enough, so maybe we've just moved on.
Red Dawn was released on August 10, 1984. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was released on May 23, 1984 with a PG-13 rating.
"Ponyboy, I don't want you at the rumble tonight. You're not looking so good." Oops. Wrong film. Carry on. Smithereens! ;
Another hot piece of patriotic ***** that no one outside the US will care about. Unlikely scenario is unlikely
"American commander, we surrender. We heard American prisons feed prisoners! We go American prison, eat! We work hard in glorious American prison."
