LOL if Lin is 6'2" then Rose is 6 foot, and Chris Paul is a midget Lin's brother is supposedly around 6'1" and Jeremy dwarfs him....
cant wait for yr three of the lin contract when we all know he sucks and this board is cursing his name. his trade value is less than zero and hes on the bench making millions
And you hate the man because..? I don't know people like you who don't know the first thing about basketball come on a basketball forum and talk out your butt spewing **** and venom everywhere. The reality show forums are over that a way, buddy. See ya. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
are you newbs still talking about how tall Jeremy Lin is? He's not Yao Ming and he's not an Imp, so who cares
The problem with any photo used to compare the heights of two people that only show them from the chest up, who appear to be pretty close in height, is you don't know how much either person in the photo is bending their knees. Draft Express lists him at 6'3" without shoes, same with Kidd. I'm more interested in how tall their shoulder height and wingspan is.
Rubio is clearly the elite player. He's the next badass TRUE point guard. Lin isn't a bad player but there is just something missing. The way I see it, there is only 3 point guards in the NBA that are really elite point guards and they are Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo, and Ricky Rubio. Yes I left out Chris Paul. He's an elite player but Nash, Rondo, and Rubio are the definitions of true point guards because of their passing skills.
If you've ever played the 1, you'd know that this is a false statement. Having played the pg spot my whole, I'll tell you that passing is not the only role of the pg. The pg's duty is directing and controling the game in its entirety. To get everyone to their right spots, to run the team up and down when needed, to slow down and iso or exploit the mismatches whenever possible, and to coordinate everything from offense to defense verbally and through your play. Scoring well is a major positive of a pg as it adds another threat to create even more opportunities to score and those pg who cant are at a clear disadvantage I think what you meant is that YOUR favorite kind of point guard is one that has supreme passing skills above all else and as my favorite point is Magic I would be partial to that, however, Magic averaged 18-20 himself. And trust me if Rondo COULD shoot better, he would LOVE it.
And btw I believe that Lin is a great floor leader. Great instincts in terms of flow. In terms of what needs to be done, being vocal, being clutch, seeing the court well, creating mismatches, getting everyone involved to maximize the total threat of the team and thereby getting everyone's best effort. I hope he develops the pg skills up to the level of his innate basketball instincts. When he does, I think we'll witness something great. As of now, he is a work in progress. But one with ultimate promise, higher than that of Rubio, Dragic, and Lowry due o that special something that he seems to possess IMHO.
Going off topic on this Rubio Lin discussion. A big thing that is overlooked I think in regards to Lin is that he hasn't played against all of the pg's in the NBA. Namely, CP3 and Russ etc. It is one thing to watch them on tape and study there game, but another to go against them in a head to head match up. This will definitely be an aspect of the growing pains for Lin. Will be interesting to see how he plays against them over the duration of the entire season. I fully expect the upper tier pg's to take him to school a little bit, but if he can still pull of a solid game I would be stoked.
You newbs are wasting server space talking about how tall Lin is. what's next? you going to waste time talking about if he drinks boba with the tapioca balls or not?
