Hmm.. guess I didn't read too much into this tweet from The River this morning.

One step at a time. One step closer to my dream. So why do players flame out in the majors after a great year or 2? I could give examples but they are too numerous to count. How do you predict this?
Adjustments. Some guys can make them, some can't. The amount of scouting data is ridiculous. Over time it'll come out if a guy can't hit a backdoor breaking ball or a screwball on the corner. Once the league becomes aware of that and starts throwing it, you gotta learn to hit it or you're done. MoBerg had that 4th place in the MVP race year and then the book got out on him that if you threw him off-speed stuff he wouldn't swing. Pence was the same way after his .330 call-up numbers. It's hard to predict who will make the necessary adjustments without creating new problems. Adjustments at the minor league level can be predictive but it's an inexact science. That's why the FO guys get paid as much as they do.
You can't for everybody. Some you can look at their advanced statistics (like Brett Wallace currently) and know the traditional stats are going to fall. Trusting in Brett Wallace is like trusting in J.R. Towles. Fools gold.
Carlos Correa is coming to Greeneville! His Twitter is actually @CarlosJ_Correa1. @GvilleAstros: Welcome to the newest @GvilleAstros @carloscorrea255 and @ruiz_rio! They'll be in uniform tonight & ready to push for the playoffs!
Man, I usually follow the GCL box score (it's the only MILB action during the day) but it's a lot less interesting without Correa and Ruiz. They've still got some interesting players like Brett Philips, Darwin Rivera, Teoscar Hernandez and Wallace Gonzalez but it's not really worth following anymore.
Heck's contract not renewed, Mike Elias [29 years old] named Director of Scouting. Here's the power trio
Rio Ruiz and Carlos Correa just made their Appalachian league debuts in the 7th inning. Rio pitch-hit for Jose Fernandez, singled, and was driven home on a home run by Ricky Gringas. Carlos subbed for James Howick at SS. He singled, advanced to 2nd on a sac bunt, stole third and came home on a sac fly by Angel Ibanez. Great start for those two!
