This trade honestly doesn't make sense to me. Harrington and Afflalo are overpaid role-players, and Moe Harkless can't shoot and really isn't that good of a player. Then they get a couple of second rounders and late first rounders. Plus, the only bad contract they dumped was Richard Jefferson, who was one of their 'better' bad contracts anyway. There's no way that this offer can be thought of as better than the Rockets, who could offer a lottery pick in addition to young players that are better than Harkless and other draft picks. Hell, I think I'd actually prefer the Nets' crappy offer to this one. I wouldn't be too surprised if part of the deal is that Stern gives them the first pick next year.
The only reason I would be surprised by this is because there is already so much attention on the NBA possibly being rigged, it would be a stupid and risky move. But honestly, wtf Orlando? Our package and the Hawk's package were way better. The picks they got suck...
Yeah, if I were a Magic fan, knowing what other deals had been out there, I'd be pissed. They traded Howard in a deal that also involved Bynum and Iguodala, but they got neither Bynum nor Iguodala. Tell me that if you're an Orlando fan that you see that and you don't go "WTF?".
it's probably 1% if you only count Magic fans. It's not like the poll screens out Laker fans, nuggets or 76ers fans
LOL from an objective point of view the Toronto pick alone+salary dump is WAY better than this deal for Orlando. If ORL wins the 1st pick then you know the fix is in.
Cavs lose LBJ- wins lottery with Clips #8 pick Hornets lose Paul- wins lottery with #4 pick Magic lose Dwight...
Seriously can't believe this but am glad we held our ground. We keep our guys and picks plus have a shot at Bynum next offseason!
