I don't understand your reasoning on this at all. Not rebuilding unless two players in their 20s are gone, one just going into his third year? Lol, okay...

You're just proving the rigging even more. Lmao at "David stern made the right move". Besides, this four team deal isn't going down anyways.

This isn't rebuilding enough for you guys? Damn... you guys must want a completely unwatchable team heading into 2012-2013 season.

Yeah - but he might have missed that boat. That offer was early in his tenure, then the Nets pulled it out from under him with the signings. So now he had to wait months, or play ball with LA.

The pressure gets ramped up, and clearly he freaked out.

Obviously we didn't want Bynum either. In fact Philly seem to have used Bynum as an expiring contract to dump Igoudala, and there's the faint chance that perhaps it works out beautifully for them.
If not, no big deal, they've carved out cap space for 2 max contracts next summer.

This could blow up in the Lakers face.

4 HOFamers starting, (you could argue Ron's a HOF with his DPOY award.) and remember the last time the Lakers got 4 of them together?

It just didn't work out. Is Dwight going to be getting limited touches, is Pau going to continue being moody?

The expectations for this team, Championship. Period. If they get anything less we could start to see some finger pointing.

I'd be one of the first to agree that the NBA is rigged in some ways, but Stern blocking the trade as the acting owner of the Hornets (not as league commissioner) is not necessarily proof of rigging although highly suspect. The deal the Hornets eventually made wound up being a much better deal, luckily for them. They avoided futile mediocrity, got a max player in Gordon and drafted the first overall pick. While some of the circumstances behind the scenes could have been rigged such as the Billups' amnesty auction or NOLA winning the lottery, that's another story. Fact is, the Hornets are a better team because of the blocked trade, as miffed as we might be about getting hosed.

About time for Phil Jackson to come back out of retirment to show he is the greatest coach of all time.

I still will be surprised if the trade happens. Just too dumb.

+ Lakers, they are now built to win, but they mortgage the future for this. It is a good risk for them without losing Gasol.
+ Rockets, I want Dwight for sure, but not giving up Chandler and our main assets for him. Dwight would of been a lot better stat-wise with the Rockets, more dominant with more touches and less ego fighting with other star players. I'm glad we didn't get him because if he wanted to be with Rockets, we would of gotten him already. I think the Magic GM did us a favor because he knows a lot more than we do about Dwight's head. And it isn't Morey's fault that a player doesn't want to be here.
    - Magic, they got a lot less than I expected and Kyle O'Quinn, or Gustavon Ayon ring a bell? Those are their centers, so they are going to be playing like tankers. They are getting draft picks from playoff contenders, Magic may never get a lottery pick with those. No foundation of youth, a bunch of NBA journeymen with obscene contracts. Rockets should have a better record than the Magic.

    Huh, wait.

So, Devos is the owner, Martins is the President, and Hennigan's the GM.

So, for the Rockets case, do we have a president?

Well I think at that point, RH thought he could do better. My theory is that during the meeting with DH and Fegan they said Lakers or you will never sign one of my players or your will be blacklisted by free agents, etc. So they were stuck with the Lakers as a trading partner. Consequently, the Rockets weren't willing to offer the same package for AB but yet Orlando wanted more. Hence, the current trade. I would not be surprised if this trade is better than what Houston was willing to offer for AB.

It's a ceiling thing, Martin has already peaked and will never be a core part of a Rockets championship contender. McHale has a little love affair with Patterson, well, Patterson is a solid starter at best and we have a TON of forwards most of whom have higher ceilings.

Rebuilding means maximizing your ability to find all-stars, if we're going to find even 1 of them out of this group we need these guys gone.

Was cool with signing Lin/Asik since we had nothing at point guard or center. But forwards/wings need to go

And... wow. If that's true, I would quit IMMEDIATELY if I were Hennigan. Just walk out. It won't mess up future hiring opportunities--every executive in the league will know exactly what happened and exactly how dysfunctional the ORL front office is. Their ownership group will become a laughingstock (even moreso).

Those picks + Afflalo + Vucevic + Harkless it has an aproximated value of a Parsons + T.Jones + Raptors pick pack, I guess. And I'm being generous.
Not bad, but improvable. They also recieve a bad contract (Harrington), who is still not expiring like Martin.
