Is Rob Hennigan David Khan's illegitimate son?

More from the Magic, who are in mourning.

    I wanted to reply...Hornets & Davis?

Not as bad as the Knicks Board when they lost Lin, but as Sigmund knows, Lin is the real deal...a bonafide superstar, international marketing icon and point guard supreme!

I still can't believe that the Magic are letting themselves be done over like that! This trade is terrible.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. So many implications to read into for us, the Lakers, the future of the league, the perceived value of our assets, what Morey's goal is when he clearly could have offered a better deal without giving up much.... Just mind boggling.

I think Morey was finally convinced that Dwight would not resign with the rockets (or atleast that the chance of hims resigning was verry low). And he didn't want to loose to much young players and draft picks.

I'm really glad we didn't get Dwight (because I believed he didn't want to be here and he is a prima donna who complains untill he can go to another team). but I'm less thrilled the Lakers got him.

Hours later, I remain floored that Orlando accepted this hideous, hideous deal. Still waiting for the Magic to back out at the last second, although that seems increasingly unlikely. I am beyond curious to find out what the Rockets' thinking was behind not making a competitive offer, which shouldn't have been that difficult. Isn't it weird that we haven't heard a single word leaked from the Houston side on this matter? Not so much as a peep from Feigen either. Perhaps something is cooking behind the scenes.

Terrible roster and terrible assets. Outside of their own draft pick they have literally nothing with any real value. A bunch of picks which might as well be 2nd rounders... not prospects... bad contracts. They're worse off than the Bobcats.

Actually given the apparent stupidity of their front office and their situation moving forward they probably rank dead last among NBA organizations in future outlook. It will take a good five years at a minimum to get that ship turned around... and that's a long time in the fast-paced NBA. This isn't baseball.

This was the perfect opportunity for Orl to clear Hedo's uber-contract.

    Fail

Even if the trade is stern'd, what are some of you thinking? You think that Dwight is gonna come here and play his heart out? He'd more likely sit out the whole season. From the Lakers to the Rockets and their rookies.....think about that and tell me what you would do.

Morey obviously pulled his Dwight offer for Bynum. Same for the Cavs. Both offers are better than the Magic are getting now. Both teams could have had Bynum if they wanted to but both weren't high on Bynum enough to give up too much. Nothing to get upset about, geez.

But the Rockets knew this last year as well and still nearly got him at the trade deadline. They were probably offering more for him then, too. It would be very difficult for him to walk away in the off-season, but even if he did, we would have had chances to recoup our investment at the trade deadline or in a sign & trade anyway. It would have been worth a gamble. Fact is, even the worst-case scenario isn't anywhere close to apocalyptic.

For Orlando, it would have been better too since they wouldn't be getting long term contracts from us, rather a big expiring, non-guaranteed players and rookies. No liability there. They could have also flipped Martin for more picks.

My guess is that Morey thought Hennigan was bluffing about accepting last night's deal. Morey probably overestimated Hennigan, figuring he was slick operator like himself, and was simply trying to create leverage. Little did he know he was serious about pulling the trigger on such a terrible deal. Well, Hennigan sure showed him... NOT!

If this trade is completed, then it only means one thing. Orlando got what they consider is the best deal while trading DH to the (remaining) team of his choice. My guess is that RH is afraid of trading a superstar with a superstar agent to a team not of his liking. Therefore, new CBA isn't really accomplishing everything that we fans want because stars dominate the rules still. The only fix would be a hard cap.

Funny some people seem to think this Dwight drama is going to end.. More like its postponed until free agency when Dwight and Bynum , apparently from what everyone is saying, can get better and longer deals instead of being extended by their "new" respective teams. Then drama will start all over again BUT at least its for something we can be for sure with. I have no issues with seeing how the rookies perform. I'd rather have them over our team from last year any day.

Where were we going with that squad? Back to the best team NOT to make the playoffs?

So Fegan told Morey to back off Dwight, and then neither Rockets nor Cavs wanted Bynum bad enough?

I can't wrap my head around this atrocious trade.

I don't buy this because he would have traded him to the Nets if he was, as you say, afraid of being an outcast among agents.
