and what confuses me more is how dwight hates orlando so damn much... anyone remember that summber back when the Magic had cap room and everyone thought they'd get Duncan,Tmac, and grant hill because it was such a beautiful place to live and free agents wanted to go there. This is a real question: Did the summer league send Howard to LA? My speculation. After the stellar performances of all our rookies, Morey pull the offers off the table. Instead of two or three of the rookies plus the Toronto pick, he was then offer no more than one rookie and the pick. And Orlando turned to the Lakers.
Any one of our rookies is better than Harkless. And the Toronto pick + Martin (expiring) + ability to dump 2 bad deals is better than Afflalo + Harrington (adding bad deals).
It's disappointing to know that DM probably low-balled the crap out of the Magic. You guys can go watch Lin play. I'll watch from a distance but wake me up in a couple of years as far as the Rockets are concerned.
Rockets weren't in Howard's list. Morey could have gotten Howard for one year rental with half-heart efforts. Big stars in this league always dictate where they go.
You know what would be awesome - if the Lakers completely fell apart from injuries this year. Seriously - Kobe will be coming off an unprecedented healthy streak and will have played another long season with playoffs into the Olympics - is this the year he finally breaks down? How bout Nash - same thing with him....and as good as Howard is, he is still in a wheelchair, correct? I'm just saying - they have the "all rabbits foot" team in terms of good health. Surely they regress to the mean just by the odds. It seems improbable that Nash, Kobe, Howard, and Gasol all remain relatively healthy given they have all been healthy players up until this point and 3 out of those 4 are getting old.
