They got Kobe on draft night for an established player through good GMing. Kobe was not a homerun when he was acquired. Not giving them credit for getting Kobe is just a way to discount how well they have done drafting over the years. Magic, Worthy, Kobe, Bynum, and Marc Gasol have all been very good picks. Magic and Worthy were pretty obvious picks but the last three were not.

There are some guys in Oklahoma that disagree with you.

Presently, he put up Courtney Lee stats last year. And they're almost exactly the same age.

They got Kobe on draft night for an established player. The Lakers draft day moves over the last few decades can not be overlooked.

Im ok with or without DH. But what I dont understand is why did Denver helped Lakers getting DH?

They were pretty much even with Lakers, taking them to game 7. With Nash, they couldve still contended with Lakers, with their younger players maturing and Lakers older players declining. It would still be a tight matchup comes playoffs. I realize Iggy is an upgrade but not even close to scale of Lakers upgrade. Nuggets have little to no chance in hell of beating Lakers with DH in their lineup. Denver might look like a winner now, but in a long run, they are a loser just the same without getting by Lakers.

Why did Denver facilitate this deal?

Unfortunately, there's a good chance they lose Harden or Ibaka next year because they're in a small market.

    1. Don't let the Rockets get top #5 pick this year
    2. Rockets can't be involved if we agree to accept crap trade for Dwight
    3. Give us the #1 pick like you did with CLE and New Orleans

    That'll show Morey!

I almost feel like Hennigans goal evolved into making Morey look bad and prove him wrong by accepting the best trade not involving Morey. Looks like that package sucks for ORL. So stupid

If you can believe it, MIAMI IS A WORST SPORTSTOWN THAN HOUSTON!

And, Miami is a SMALLER market than Houston.

Please, this is how it goes. Riley wants rings to try and catch Phil. LA ALWAYS wants rings. Houston? We want to open up marketing opportunities for the Asian fanbase and hope and pray that 35 wins per year with the occasional 43 wins keep the zombie fan base at bay.

Until the fans rise up, pick up the damn phone, cancel their tickets and say enough of this **** and have Les make a move of worth, the 2% will be stuck with the apathy of the other 98% like my dad who is a season ticket holder since the 70's and says to me today about the trade...

"Ah...I didn't want him anyways. Let the kids play".

Dad, thats kind of an Epic Fail mentality. But join the rest of the majority!

Yeah, I am actually relieved that Morey didn't budge on giving up to much. Kudos to him for not making desperate moves just for the chances of getting a superstar.

Actually this really sucks short term but is probably the best case scenario for long term success.

D12 wanted LA. The Rockets were not going to get him. The Lakers and Heat will own the League for the next 2 years. Acquiring a Bynum or Pau only keeps us on the treadmill of mediocrity. Does anyone here believe Philly will win anything with Bynum? I believe there is a better possibility he blows out his knees after signing his next big contract. At least now the Rockets can play the kids with the possibility of a top 3 pick next year. Next year's draft could potentially be loaded at the center position.

It's been pointed out that Philly is getting a better return for Iguadala than Orlando is for Dwight freaking Howard.

lol... even the New Jersey offer was better. I think Kupchak sends thugs over to rival GMs' houses when he wants a player.

They got Bryant, the same way they are getting Howard. His agent said he would not play for Charlotte and forced a trade.

Is anyone secretly glad that the Rockets didn't get Howard because now we don't have to cheer for someone who is obviously a giant douchebag?

Don't see why Orlando turns that deal down yet agrees to this hot mess of a package.
