I find you're use of "frontrunner" to be offensive. Just because I'm tired of dwelling in nba purgatory does that make me a lesser fan than you? Are you cooler than others because you think that sucking your way to the top is the way to go?

    Start the year with him(?)
    Trade him at the deadline.
If not, he walks at the end of the year.

Jesus - what a horrible trade for Orlando. I honestly don't see what the point is here. They just set a terrible precedent for stars forcing their way to teams and just put a huge ****ing spotlight on the inequity of the league. It's BS if LA can have literally no valuable assets and still mange to land Dwight AND Steve Nash in the summer. This stinks.

...I'm glad we didn't get Howard, but the fact that the Lakers end up with him for an expiring contract and a late 1st rounder is just absurd. Worst Summer for the league EVER.

How does Pau not given up in this?

    How? How? How?

I hate Stern and the idiots in Orlando.

If this is for real the Magic did quite badly.

They don't seem to have ditched any bad contracts.
They don't seem to have got any young star
They don't seem to have picked up a decent pick

Why wouldn't they just let him walk??

Come on bro. I know people hate the Lakers but Bynum is a very valuable asset. Getting Nash was just a case of him being a free agent and wanting to play there.

I'm still amazed how Orlando failed to get Bynum or Gasol...

    That doesn't make any sense.........

Agreed. Not getting Dwight is depressing, but I think I'm more upset with the precedent this is setting. Melo was bad enough with his NY or bust talk, but at least the Knicks gave up a decent package for them. This is a garbage deal Orlando is taking back, and it's all because Dwight willed it. It's making me lose hope for the future of the league.

On the plus side, we're picking up a top 3 pick with our current lineup AND have a host of 'pieces' to build for the future.

We've just assumed the position we were all hoping the magic would take!

to me Dwight signed to the lakers a little too late because kobe got 2 years left and nash got probly 2 years left before they retire. the lakers aren't gonna be as good when both of them are gone
